Re: The Ashes 2017/18
The sun has obviously got to me, you are quite right we didn't get 20 wickets, although I don't think Lyon & Hazlewood's wickets would have much difference to the game. I personally still think the bowlers did enough to give us a chance of a win, but we are not getting enough runs to put the Aus...

Re: The Ashes 2017/18
Disappointing but not surprising. I went to a Geoff Boycott chat the other night and he was saying we will not win any matches as we won't get 20 wickets in a match and most others I speak to keep blaming our bowlers for bowling too short etc. However we did get 20 wickets and I think it's our batsm...

Re: The Ashes 2017/18
To get in the ground today, all you need to do is give a 'gold coin' ie a dollar and that goes to charity. Brilliant idea and should hopefully get a decent crowd in, exactly what's needed to get more people to watch test cricket. Somehow don't see Lords doing it though. Off to the ground now, still ...

Re: The Ashes 2017/18
Great day of test cricket, the atmosphere and noise from the barmy army was superb. The Aussies only seem to go to days 1 & 2 of a test match. Weird. I know with my sensible head on we have probably lost too many wickets already, but I can't help but dream. If we can do it, not only will it be o...

Re: The Ashes 2017/18
Lyon much more of a threat than Moeen. Missing Stokes massively, as no real backup for Jimmy and Broad. The Aussies extra pace on these pitches, where nothing happens with regards movement, is vital in bowling out the tail enders cheaply. I was reasonably happy at the end of the Aussies innings, Smi...

Re: The Ashes 2017/18
Just off to the game, it's pretty cloudy here at the moment and heavy rain showers predicted throughout the day. Hopefully the conditions will help our bowlers, as I think we need to knock them over so we get a first innings lead. The weather should negate their fast bowlers a bit by not drying the ...

Re: The Ashes 2017/18
I think a lot of commentators and the crowd thought that as the pitch was slower and had less bounce than a typical Gabba pitch, that batting was easy. But it never really seemed to come on to the bat, so I don't think it was that easy to score on, plus we couldn't afford to be in our usual 50 for 3...

Re: what pub have you been in today ? Rate it out of 10
Red Lion, Southwold. It seems to have had some mixed reviews since new owners took it over earlier this year, but our food was very good. My pint of broadside was lovely as always, as it should be with the brewery up the road, but the good thing was the wife had a Pimms and it came with all the trim...

Re: Sunderland v West Ham United: Match Thread
I came on here on here to see what actually happened in the game, but yet again just loads of posts slagging of the team and manager. Virtually no sensible comments or points, just knee jerk over reactions. I think this site should just be locked from a minute before kick off, to at least a couple o...

Re: The English Summer of Cricket
The current T20 gets the crowds at some clubs, eg Essex sell out. As for alternatives to the new competition, they could have put the current T20 on terrestrial tv and given it the publicity this new competition is rumoured to be getting. That way new fans and kids can easily watch and you don't ali...

Do West Ham players not get Flu jabs, they only cost a tenner, even DS can afford that.
I know they are not guaranteed to keep flu away, but every year our team seem to be affected.

Re: Stratford 2012 [POLL]
The thing is, I don't think it would have made the slightest difference if every single West Ham fan had been against the move. GSB would still have gone through with it and we would still have bought our season tickets at the OS. Now whether we buy them next year, or actually do what we have said i...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I found that there were far fewer empty seats around me today in the 1966 seats, presumably because ticket trader was working, which definitely made for a better atmosphere. I admit I would like to be surrounded by regulars, as I was at the Boleyn, as for some strange reason I prefer that. But at le...

Re: Astra Giurgiu v West Ham Utd: match thread
Why are match threads so over the top. If you believe everything you read in this one, every player is crap and the manger can't manage. I get we are all disappointed, but it's sport, sometimes you play badly, especially with youngsters, early season, not the usual team. Why can't we just accept tha...

Re: The English Summer of Cricket
RyanWHUfc,
I agree with all those, except Roy, I think he's just an ODI player, less a test player even than Hales in my opinion.
Still think it's a shame that Vince can't get runs, as even the few he does get look so stylish, but unfortunately no place for just good to watch players.

Re: The 2016 summer transfer thread
When Carroll was injured loads wanted rid of him, while his supporters were saying get him fit and then we can sell him for decent money before he gets injured again. Now he is fit it seems people want him to stay. I don't understand it, he will probably get injured again as he is prone. In my opini...

Re: what pub have you been in today ? Rate it out of 10
St Andews Brewhouse Norwich. This is a pub with a micro brewery, I intended to try all five of their own beers and decided to start off on the weakest which was a pint of IPA at 4.8, even though I normally prefer a dark beer like Adnams Broadside. The IPA was so good, I just had five pints of that, ...

David James standing outside the Holiday Inn at Westfield at about one in the morning after last nights match, after we had all evacuated due to a fire alarm. False thankfully. The fire alarm that is, not David James.

sdkfz 222, We were staying at the Holiday inn and the official WHU site said ourselves and car park 'chip' holders would be able to get back to Westfield through an entrance in the barriers at Stratford walk (ie. by the Cow pub). We did manage it, although the it was very slow and difficult, due to ...

I couldn't find any mention of this, but I just found it in a news article posted on Friday on the official site, so might be of interest re the e-credits. I quote:- Please note as credits are transferred to your new account on Ticketmaster {eticketing.co.uk/whufc) you may see some discrepancies on ...
