Re: Pop Stars Late Coming on - Cool or Ignorant?

I been there with Oasis; they split the morning of the gig. I remember seeing Lan De Rey at Glasto (on tv) last year, coming out 45 minutes late, blaming hair and make-up. - She seemed surprised they wouldn't allow her to continue playing after lights out. N*E*R*D at Glasto a few years ago. Came on...

This is another huge balls up coming down the line. Parents getting very grumpy about a planned care rollout for 2y+ this April and 9 months plus this Septmber that isn't going to happen. Mr "focussed on delivery" has got some explaining to do https://twitter.com/sgfmann/status/17491909949...

Re: Mayor of London 2024

I am beginning to wonder wther TfL's recent woes may have an effect on this may's election. Central is a shitshow, Lizzy line seems to be a lottery. real time info has gone to pot meaning you have no idea if/when your bus/tube is turning up. I wonder if the Tories regret selecting one of the worst c...

Carolos Tevez - The manager

After a disappointing finish to the match v Vulture FC, reading this in the Sunday Times cheered me right up. Carlitos is turning out to be a brilliant & modern manager in Argentina. Apolgies mods for the long quote, but it's behind at patywall. How Carlos Tevez became the world’s least likely m...

12.9% of over 18s smoke, according to 2022 stats. I disagree with them that it constitutes a representative regular purchase for the majority. Might be good for HMRC coffers, but it's not like a price hike affects more than a minority of households. The basket is full of "representatitive"...

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

Why is tobacco still influencing inflation figures? I thought we were trying to phase it out. Who cares if duty on that rubbish has increased by ten thousand percent? Inflation should cover the things we all need - food, fuel, shelter, clothing etc - not stuff that simply feeds harmful addictions. ...

Solved: Tweets

When I post a tweet, it just shows as a link but it used to show the full tweet.

I thought it was just yet another Musk related restriction but I see other users can post Tweet kinks and it shows the full tweet

Well this particular MP isn’t “****ing around”. I will vote against if the legislation isn’t amended. Simple as that.

This is an amazing deep dive on what went on in the months, weeks up to 7th October... really worth reading the whole thing They are known as Israel's eyes on the Gaza border. For years, units of young female conscripts had one job here. It was to sit in surveillance bases for hours, looking for sig...

If you want to know what it was like trying to get to the bottom of what was going on, this is a an excellent read on the various Panoramas and the Post Office tactics to keep them off air. Rare you see such forceful language in a BBC piece. Post Office lied and threatened BBC over Horizon whistlebl...

The NHS have just sent me a "now that you're an old **** you best come in so that we can double check you're not about to keel over" text message. Which is nice. Take advanatge of all the health screening you can get. I wouldn't be here at 56 if I hadn't. Everyone has their own struggles ...

AFCON 2024 on Sky.

Sky have just announced that they will be showing all games from Afcon starting saturday.

My kknowledge of African football is pretty shocking outside world cups. Anyone invested in it?

Apart from hoping Mo and Nayef do n't get injured, anything else to watch out for?
