Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24

Avoided Liverpool. QFs against the 2nd favourites. Bring it on.

If we don't get into Europe again I'm gonna really miss it. Hugely enjoyable.

That's literally the formation Moyes has played in his entire time here.

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

But the linesman was flagging offside every time we tried - on one occasion, Moyes mentioned it, he flagged immediately, but Bowen was onside. https://i.ibb.co/nDytH5C/wh-v-burnley-not-offside.jpg And play was only stoped because it was a foul on Bowen. So play stops and he sticks his flag up and t...

Furthermore, should the ball deflect off a player and then onto their own arm or hand, this should not automatically be given as a penalty
The wording of this is atrocious - doesn’t mean anything.

We've been at our best with a front four if Paq Bowen Kudus and JWP at 10. That's undeniable. He brings a bit of energy and technical ability there.

Yeah they were very good off the ball.

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

If you set up for 0-0 then your opportunities will generally rely on individual brilliance or mistakes, there won't be the numbers up front to work openings, win rebounds or exert sustained pressure. Those that would be doing that are back waiting for the ball to inevitably head their way again. If...

Yeah but Phillips can't play 10 and neither can Soucek.

Don't normally subscribe to the 'Moyes doesn't make subs early enough', but that game was crying out for Antonio for about 20 minutes. Thought we were okay, decent away performance in Europe, but they forced a mistake and made it count. And yes absolutely a penalty by today's rules. I'd like to know...

That Ref is a liability alright. 2 Europa league games officiated this season, 11 yellow cards & 2 reds..! Total this season all comps, 19 games, 98 yellow cards & 6 reds... Could be a very frustrating evening... Let’s hope the coaching staff have got the message. These spanish refs think t...

Was it really a golden generation from a West Ham perspective though ? Joe Cole and Michael Carrick became first team regulars for us, Steven Bywater had a handful of games as did Richard Garcia and Adam Newton appeared once for the first team (and after watching both FAYC final legs I thought he w...

Don't like Spanish refs. We'll have to be very careful. They can be VERY officious and theatrical.

Reading between the lines of West Brom's manager's comments on Marshall, he's not impressed. Deliberately stating that he had 'only' trained with the first team 6 times, he is not ready for the Championship (let alone the PL?). I couldn't understand why Kudos wasn't getting games at Wycombe, perhap...

They had some chances but only a couple of good ones. So many shots from 25 yards that produced a save but we're no real threat. They also hit the first defender from corners A LOT... about four times in the last minute before Eddie scored. It was a mad game for a bit in the second half, enjoyable. ...

The game got so open at one point it was like a Sunday league game, the ref not giving fouls, end to end.

Thought Antonio did well when he came on. We just had that bit of quality at both ends…. in the end.
