Re: January

If we had a proper pacey, hard box to box midfielder, we could get by with Fredericks, Johnson, Masuaku and Cresswell at fullback until the summer when Zabaleta retires and we upgrade at least one of the left backs. The two who stand out to me is ideal are Franck Kessie and Kelvin Phillips ( who I h...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

I know he wasn’t the primary reason for our loss, but I am very concerned in 9 of our 11 matches, Rice has been completely absent for the first 20 to 30 minutes. He is a good player (nowhere near as good as he or the hype train think he is though), but it is crucial that he plays and contributes for...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

Our owners are the cheapest of the cheap so expecting them to pay the going rate to address these problems will never happen. The best we can hope for is to bring back Diangana to give us a bit more pace and to sign Boubakary Soumare from Liile who is out of contract in the summer to add a bigot pac...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

I am very worried about a relegation battle. We have next to no steel, next to no pace, and next to no leadership. On top of that, in spite of the summer clear out , we still have several players who are not up to standard. Creswell is a luxury player who we can only play if the defensive midfielder...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

Snodgrass also joining the ranks of the players who are done at this level. Gave away a stupid free kick for Shelvey’s Goal. For the first 55 minutes, Anderson and Haller have been our best defenders. We’ve been miles better with 2 up front and with Fredericks at right back. Fabianski deserves a com...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

We have zero pace other than Anderson. Rice has been in decline all season. Since he got called up gor England and linked with big money moves he’s been at best average. On today’s showing Zabaleta, Noble and Cresswell are done at this level. The two fullbacks should NEVER play for us again. Cresswe...

Re: January

We need some serious reinforcements, and also to move r a few players out. We desperately need a defensive/box to box midfielder with real pace. We also need another striker, another centre back, and we need to shift, Sanchez, Wilshere, one of our left backs and some of our ageing underperformers. I...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Sheffield United: Match thread (26/10)

I’m a bit disappointed with every aspect of the club at the moment. We are the epitome of mediocrity...and bordering on the definition of mild underperformance . If you look at our rivals who are doing better, Leicester for example have quality at every position. Fabianski may have a slight edge on ...

Re: January

I am very sceptical that we will spend any money in January. If we wanted to, we could guarantee a challenge for the top,6 by signing a proper defensive midfielder. Boubakary Soumare is a combination of the best of Doucoure and Kouyate. He’s a 20 year old French U 21 with champions league experience...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

I think Rice has been poor a lot this season. Today, he was not our worst player, but only because Fornals and Lanzini were pub league standard. Rice had some blame on the first goal and a lot on the second, and bar a half hour either side of half to he was horrible in possession. Wilshere did nothi...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Playing this game like a friendly, which I think we’ve looked like in most games this season. Masuaku, Noble, Lanzini, Fornals and Anderson - absolutely awful. We’re really missing some pace, strength and athleticism in this team. Getting overrun and hustled far too easily. I’d say Anderson and Nob...

I’m very worried that Zaha or Townsend May roast Zabaleta and Fredericks is also carrying a knock.

Don’t like this substitution.Yarmolenko is more likely to create some magic.
