Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours

Defensive midfield is a position to me that is more about the thankless tasks than any other position...... So it's easy to miss what a player does - interceptions, tackles, keeping passing going...assists and goals are maybe more of a bonus.... So based on that, probably simplistic thought process,...

Re: FA Cup 5th Round - West Bromwich Albion Away

Could have been better, could have been worse - winnable though

More disappointed to not get arsenal, Man U or Liverpool drawn against each other to an our own draw...

Hopefully our midfield will be back functioning and we can beat them

Re: Bristol City v West Ham Utd (FAC4R): match thread

Into next round = success

Please avoid arsenal, Liverpool and Man United in the draw for the next round.....would strongly prefer two of them to get each other!

It would help if Song could find a team mate with a pass too.
He's the only one not cheaply giving the ball away every other pass though to be fair

Re: Bristol City v West Ham Utd (FAC4R): match thread

Quite a few hopeful balls forward from Song and, to a lesser extent Nolan

Keep the ball, be patient and chances will come

When they get the ball shut them down quicker please

Worryingly I have no problem picturing a midfield of Nolan, Noble and Fletcher under Sam

3.5 years and £80k....if true I hope we know what we're doing

Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours

We'd be nuts to sell noble based on performances in a couple of games when we are relying on a main man in our midfield who is on loan and will most likely be somewhere else by August

Tell them they can have Jarvis instead

Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours

Fletcher seems like a smashing bloke but reminds me of Collison

I guess if he'd continued previous form we would have no chance but I wonder if there are better options for centre mid....

Re: West Ham Utd v Hull City: match thread

No-one was wide right till Morgan came on...not a bunny It was nothing to do with pressure....all our midfielders were playing out of position. Nolan can never play the attacking midfielder anymore...and how he played Song in a midfield square instead of just in front of defence was a huge mistake....

Re: West Ham Utd v Hull City: match thread

Pretty much my view Dave, I'm seriously getting weighed down with the bull **** irrational negativity / hatred on here, I'm thinking its time for a change 35 points and we constantly feel the need to dig the captain out, ****ing sad 36 points Ozza - you're being seriously negative deducting us poin...

Re: West Ham Utd v Hull City: match thread

Interesting on Downing but from my pov he was often in the middle of the park when an attack started only to move wide with or without the ball because we were penned in in wide areas at fullback. I perhaps phrased it wrong. It's not that he didn't play wide, he played a lot of his football out on ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Hull City: match thread

I also don't think Downing was positioned wide first half as seems to be the idea on here. Imo Hull penned us so far back that neither Jenkinson nor Cresswell got far enough forward to provide any width. Downing was often picking the ball up central and taking it wide. He often drifted out there be...

Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours

Allardyce in press conference gave no indication that we would go for Ambrose or Nastasic, was a bit more positive about Reid and said we couldn't afford permanent signings due to FFP....'but maybe a loan or two'. Isn't FFP wages related though? :? You incur wages whether perm or loan I'd have thou...

Re: Swansea vs West Ham Utd: match thread

Why do people keep saying that no one was marking Gomis? Nolan was, just backed off too deep and got out jumped.

Collins may well have done better but wrong to say no one was marking

Re: January 2015 Transfer Window - News & Rumours

Not news or rumours but have a friend who supports Bolton and is gutted that Lee Chung-Yong is off to the Asian cup Forgot he was still at Bolton - and quite surprised, thought he was a quality little player I'm probably starting to sound a bit like Sullivan but...... http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk...
