Re: West Ham make Thierry Henry an offer

Free transfer. £75k a week x 2 years = £7m. Worth making him an exception to the wage structure IMO.

That's more than they've frittered away on Benni Big Mac.

But don't build a team around a 32-year old.

Re: West Ham United vs Arsenal : FA Cup Match Thread

Young Frankie Nouble - bless him - gave his best. He also sat out five minutes early in the second half to lead all to believe that he took a knock. After 78 minutes of tremendous effort I look across the halfway line from my esteemed vantage point in the East Upper and observe Freddie Sears warming...

Re: Snap ownership poll

If anyone is backing Gold and Sullivan as white knights, they are either plain stupid or, at best, naive - they're in it for a quick dollar. Don't believe this 'West Ham supporter' cobblers. Birmingham City have moved ON from these charlatans. Does anyone see Blues fans shedding a tear for the old r...

Re: West Ham United v Chelsea match thread

I wish I could be Mike Dean for this evening. Tucked up in a penthouse suite counting a suitcase full of fifty pound notes (or roubles) and relaxing in a jacuzzi full of Russian whores. Beats polonium. How else do we explain the penalty that wasn't (Upson's fair challenge) and the one that was (Carv...

Re: West Ham Utd vs T*ttenham: match thread

Gutted - didn't think Carlton had a goal like that in his locker. Gutted for him with his eye of a needle through ball to Defoe in front of Fabio Capello. Thought he held the line well though and gave King and Bassong a good going over. ...and despite getting run ragged by Lennon, thought Spector ha...

Re: Carling cup draw ( Millwall at home )

Play the stiffs on Sunday - have a rest and a nice roast.

Get the First XI revved up and let's see West Ham smash Millwall out of sight.

Nothing else matters.

Re: 09/10 Kits [POLL]

That is a bloody gorgeous top IMO.[/quote] So good that Canterbury have gone tits up. Should've stuck to rugby. Pompey - no manager, 15 players inc 3 keepers, no kit, no kit sponsor, a Russian chairman who's old fella sold tanks to the Angolans and a prospective Arab buyer who might still fail the f...

Re: good old days..

Actually, just seen TOFFS do a replica but without the Addidas stuff on there. Might have a wonder along to their factory to see what they have. No need to wonder, Geordie Boy. Try wandering down to the Club Shop or website and get a Score Draw retro shirt - they're the official licensees for good ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Manchester United: match thread

Thought today was a great performance and that we were unfortunate not to get anything out of the game. Understanding that we're all entitled to our opinions, I think criticism of Savio and Noble is well wide of the mark. Firstly, the kid has just got off the plane. And anyone that picks holes in ou...

Re: West Ham up for sale

Our perfect world. We, the supporters, buy the Club for £100m by securing an interest-free loan from a West Ham benefactor to pay back at £10m a year. We appoint the Board along the Barca democracy model. I'd vote for Sir Trevor as Chairman. A White Paper declares what West Ham United stands for - a...

Re: Middlesbrough v West Ham United: match thread

Great to read all the 'reviews' as I wasn't at the game and would always trust the interpretations of loyal supporters than some journo with a vested interest. Having seen Collison's excellent second half at Old Trafford I'm delighted to see that Franco started him - and Freddie! And pleased that th...

Have a good time up there i hope!

Not as good as the 1986 FA Cup Fifth Round. Or the Di Canio match.

But nah, just been grafting away from home.

Are you still gonna question my selection in the middle of the park, Degsy?

Re: Manchester Utd v West Ham United: match thread

Just got back from Old Trafford! Just wanted to post that Jack Collison had an outstanding second half. Didn't give the ball away once. Great to see young Freddie get half an hour also - loved him 'megging Vidic! Oi Franco! Give 'm both a start at Boro. Parker and Jack in front of the back four. Fre...

The Hope and Anchor in Hilton St is alright. Close to Picadilly, beer, Sky TV, not mobbed - just a few grey, dusty Mancs.

Re: West Ham Utd v Arsenal: match thread

I thought that was a criticism which could have made of most of the team, to be honest- apart from Mullins. Once you let people like Walcott run at you, you're dead. We beat these mugs a couple of seasons ago by keeping up the pressure on them and letting them have as little of the ball as possible...

Agreed with everything you say...apart from that...Parker really got amongst them..... :? Smuts, I'm with you here. Parker was excellent today. The defence splitting through ball to Bellamy in the first half was exceptional. And in front of the back four - outstanding. Zoolander - trade in the over...

Re: West Ham Utd v Wigan Ath: match thread

Got to agree with the comments on Palacios. He ran all over Parker and Noble in the second half. The Honduran would certainly beef up our midfield - what price, £10-£12 million? If Reo-Coker's a £6 million player he's twice that! At least we'd be able to cash in Mullins and Bowyer to someone in the ...

2-0 to West Ham. Their keeper will spill a couple and the young lad from Rochdale, Taylor will bang 'em in on the hour. Our captain will meet the Queen or someone and get a tankard for effort. Their centre-half will be the best ****ing player on the pitch by a ****ing country mile. Some might say I'...

For fooks sake - NO. Together with; - Fat Frank, 'I'll never play for West Ham again' - ****ing right you won't. - Joe Cole, I won't sign a new contract so the Rodent makes him captain instead of sticking him in the stiffs. - Michael Carrick, I won't pass a ball ten yards to a claret shirt in the se...
