Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

I doubt it will pan out like this as the window isn’t even open yet but, if we did: Areola £10m Bassey £17m Aguerd £15m Lingard £5m (signing on fee estimate) KLP £20m Hlozek £17m Sell Masuaku (£5m), Diop (£10m) and Vlasic (£15m) Net spend £54m Then drop £50m on striker or CM - with the majority bein...

Re: Financial fair play ?

I don’t understand how their reported losses less the ‘forgivable’ COVID related loss of £170m actually gets them under the threshold. I’m even more confused how they work out that their COVID loss was £170m. That’s more than three times what other clubs of their size have suggested…..unless they’re...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Interesting news on Calvin Bassey. Do we think we’re interested as left back or centre back? Will we have the same thing as Ben Johnson on the other side - very solid defensively but won’t be rampaging forward? Could Moyes be planning to move to three at the back (Johnson RCB, Bassey LCB with Zouma ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Is it greedy to want Lewis-Potter AND Brennan Johnson (if forest don’t win play-offs)?

Re: Sharpe assault [non WHU]

There needs to be consistency - we were fined for a couple of people on the pitch IIRC I’m pretty sure most fans would be respectful to other players and staff, celebrate the occasion etc. the problem is that every team has it’s idiot fans (some more than others) and you can’t legislate for what the...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Is dimarzio even reliable for West Ham business? I’ve, perhaps unfairly, got the impression historically that he isn’t.

In other news - various places reporting the price for KLP from Hull is £30m. I like the kid but that seems steep.

Re: ✍ Nikola Vlasic

I wonder if Moyes sends him on during training games in the week and he immediately runs and stands behind defenders where no one can possibly pass him the ball as he does in games…..

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

How much of a defensive midfielder is Rice or Soucek by that token? They're box to box CMs for me now. I think we maybe overplay the defensive of their games when they bring quite a bit going forward. As much as I love Declan and Soucek I don’t think either are really ball playing playmakers - albe...

Not a fan personally.

Trying too hard to be different.

Hopefully it will be memorable for positive reasons - like taking us to our first ever CL qualifying season

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Few people have mentioned that Liverpool play with three defensive midfielders. Is that true? They’ve either played with Wijnauldum (sp?) or Thiago as the third midfielder haven’t they? Not sure I’d describe either as a ‘defensive’ midfielder akin to Phillips, Soucek or Rice.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

I’m sure Vlasic and Moyes will be having more detailed convos to decide what happens to him in the summer. It may well depend on whether we get any bids. Hopefully he’s taking some personal accountability rather than telling Moyes he’s had no impact because he’s been played in the wrong position, I’...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Don't the rules limit the number of non-homegrowns? Within little over a year there will only be four homegrowns left - Johnson, Rice, Bowen and Antonio. The remainder - Cresswell, Martin, Noble, Dawson, Fredericks - are all out of contract by then. This is another reason why Johnstone, Lingard, th...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Whilst Moyes will hopefully have a decent budget this summer he must also be thoughtful that he’s likely to have over £100m next summer - albeit with a massive hole to fill in centre midfield. He won’t spend all the budget on that one position and the rest of the team will be relatively young - so p...

Anyone fancy a glass of Alan Smith's tears, tastes very sweet.
Of all the ex-players in the world to have on co-commentary it baffles me that Smith is still in a job. He’s utter ***** to listen to, seems to barely follow the flow of the game and biased as hell.

When i was up in manchester a while back , I had one where they have this big Yorkshire and they put the meat, veg, roasts etc inside it . Lovely. :newthumb: Anyway, back on OT - being claimed on twitter that we like the left back at Alkmaar (Wijndal) but so do Ajax and Juve. Sounds a great dinner ...

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games

All gone a bit ‘spursy’ for Arsenal hasn’t it

Spurs have Norwich last game so unless l’arse win this they can kiss CL goodbye

And they don’t look like getting a goal let alone winning

Couldn’t happen to a nicer manager

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread

I'm surprised Taylor was so harsh towards us today. I would have thought the mandate from the Premier League would have been to make the final day as exciting as possible by having the Blue Mancs and the Red Scouse level on points. I guess Man U securing the slightly more premium European football ...
