Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

In the FA Cup this season, Man City clearly used a tactic of basically standing an inch or so ahead of the goalkeeper, whenever they had a corner or dangerous freekick. They also realised that, having done it a couple of times, Spurs weren't drilled to counteract it. Lo and behold the game was event...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Interesting countering views from WLH and Bubbs. I in part agree with both, but I do feel that Paqueta is 'world class' in an off and on manner. Secondly, nobody really wanted to sell Rice, but we're likely to finish higher after replacing him with a few players who bulked out the squad. For me, the...

I'm intrigued, Pinks: which parts of France outside of Paris are dodgy, in your opinion?

And when you use that term are you meaning unfriendly, or something else?

In no particular order

Japan
Russia
Finland
NZ
India
Can I ask why Russia?

I wouldn't go there if I were paid £1M in advance, personally.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Am I going out on a limb, here, to wonder whether there is some value in selling Paqueta this summer, if we can be sure that half of his fee will be invested in a direct replacement and the other half could be spent on a specialist left-sided attacker? I love it when he plays at his best - we all do...

Re: What did you watch last night?

Apocalypse Now We had to drag ourselves away from it, because, even though the other half had watched all of the On The Waterfront (and I watched the second half) and we had both watched the documentary about it afterwards, we knew that, if we stayed in our seats, we'd be marooned there watching it...

Not the only one with a bit of an eggshell personality, imo.

De Zerbi's another one.

definitely in that order, too. I hate flying, so imagine only one of the top three is likely/feasible.

I have a feeling Liverpool will properly turn Man U over on Sunday, so if we win this we could finish the weekend in 6th place.

If there was any justice in the world, this pensioner's plea bargain should have led to some Spurs players and fans being extradited to America to serve the jail time in place of the convicted person.

World's gone soft, really.

Re: Birds ... the feathery ones!!

Has anyone ever touched a wild bird? Yes - I once had to scoop/move a wood pigeon that had come into the kitchen through the back door and then, startled by my coming into that room, flew not back from where it had come but up and over the room towards a window (must have just headed for the lighte...
