Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

These rumours of Bruno going to Man City, aren't Newcastle theoretically a richer club than Man City now?

Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely hate for Newcastle to become another super-power, but these tightened FFP/PRP rules are definitely working in stopping others from breaking the top.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

It's too late in the day to negotiate with Paqueta. - We should have done it last summer Extra 75k a week and release clause of £100m would have increased our return on him. Why's it too late? And besides how would we have negotiated a new improved deal with Paqueta last summer when a) Man City wer...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I was saying the exact same thing about Fofana at the game yesterday. He looks a serious prospect. I reckon he'll become this summer's Broja - a Chelsea loan player who had a great game against us, and who Moyes identifies as his no.1 striker target. And Chelsea will no doubt umm and ahh all summer,...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

Hospital passes and touches leading directly to goals, red card, dropped, hooked at halftime. Been a disaster! Unquestionably, I only ever recall Pogatetz as being someone who looked genuinely lost at sea when on the football pitch, no idea where to stand, run or kick the ball to. KP hasn’t been mu...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Kalvin Phillips

Fast becoming our worst ever loan signing after Pogatetz.

He currently makes Mike Newell look like Di Canio, and Ray Atteveld like Joe Cole :crossed:

Seems a top bloke though. Really hope he turns it round - but thus far it's been a disaster.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Morris or Adebayo? Are you having a laugh? Tbf, I thought Morris was much younger and a player with potential to really improve. I didn't realise he was 28. Adebayo has scored 9 in 23 PL games in his debut PL season for a struggling side. Strong chance it's a one-off - we've seen it plenty of times...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Adebayo I like. Morris is worth a look at the right price, but he is late 20's. You may have your wires crossed with someone else there. I'd also look at Doughty from Luton. Hopefully they stay up though. I like them. Ah yes, you're right, I thought Morris was much younger. Possibly getting him con...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Wondering if Carlton Morris or Adebayo might be options if Luton go down. Both have had very promising debut seasons in the Prem. Question is, could they sustain and build on it? Neither have had the prolific scoring rates to the level of Toney, Abraham or Watkins in the lower divisions prior, altho...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I'm a huge fan of Moyes, I think he's done a fantastic job on the whole. However, any concerns I have regarding his longevity with us are those raised in this Sky Sports analysis last month, which I'm amazed more wasn't made of. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/37587/13071385/david-moyes-futu...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Who us this Muniz that Fulham have got ?coz he looks a real gem and of I've noticed him you can bet a lot of top PL.managers have too. I hadn't heard of Muniz until recently, but I find it amusing that he's keeping Broja out of the XI who can't even get mins off the bench for Fulham at the moment a...

Could almost have a whole separate thread on managers who just disappeared after some high profile roles or being lauded as a bright new thing. What happened to Iain Dowie in management as well?

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

In fairness to frizz, he got into the England set up when still at Leeds. Yep. And Southgate has continued to pick him based on his consistent performances for England, primarily while he was at Leeds. As others have said, I think Southgate has more of a tendency to stay loyal to players he knows a...

The ultimate one was Nigel Quashie after we signed him. It led to the single greatest thread in KUMB history "Where's Quashie", packed full of artistic sightings from posters, created on MS Paint apps :crossed: Still brings a smile just thinking about it. I wish UTJ could bring it back wit...
