Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Sustainably? Well yes poor league finishes will drop it. We still had the 18th highest revenur in club football last season. 8th in PL. We were 7th in 2020. Newcastle over took us due to a far better league finish and now CL. How do Brighton have a higher revenue? So yes we should be more competiti...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
We put LONDON in our badge, what more do people want to grow our brand? Lol Our manager has grown income in this tenure to the extent that he generated £100m+ of extra revenue for the club. Those responsible for merchandising and commercial income have barely seen the dial move. Despite the most su...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Yes I thought you meant owner funding. We are light years behind the clubs that have had regular CL football. We are higher than the rest and need to use that advantage wisely. We’re not higher than the rest though. Not sustainably in any case. We’re behind the big six and Newcastle. one season out...

Was hoping Palace would drop into a full blown relegation scrap but suspect that win keeps them out of it. Shame.

Genuinely dislike the guy more than Warnock, Pulis and Sam rolled into one super being.

Re: ✍ Welcome Danny Ings
Anyone else starting to wonder if there may be an extension clause in his contract if he reaches a certain amount of games or appearances from the bench? We had similar clauses on contracts for many post 30 year-old players - Fab, Ogbonna, Cresswell....so the club has form for such things, but nothi...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Nobody invested in Jan. True, but many couldn't because of FFP. We were one of the few that had that competitive advantage that we could - not my words, Kieran Maguire, Swiss Ramble. Not west ham fans with claret and blue specs - the neutral financial football experts. Our owner saw it as an opport...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If only this anger and frustration could be directed at the common cause of the shitshow that is going on at the club and seems to be on a repeat cycle whenever a certain someone has to, you know, actually show some ****ing leadership and try to improve the club.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I think there are many ways that interview could be taken tbh, and none of us really know.
If there are any clubs who are looking for a new manager between now and the end of the season they may feel more inclined to reach out to him as a result though.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Honestly, I don't blame anyone for expecting more from us than we've had before. It's what we sold the BG for afterall, to have a world class team. Moyes delivering some sort of success just serves to mislead even further on that lie. Expectations have been raised for sure - partly due to the move ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If it is 10/11th and not 8th, would that sway your opinion? It utterly baffles me having supported West Ham for nearly half a century that people are really getting into debates and criticising the manager by devaluing delivering 7th/8th because of some implied expectation on finances, resources, b...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Thanks but i’ll trust sources like Kieran Maguire and the Swiss Ramble over a load of click bait sites that don’t have numbers anywhere near anyone’s published accounts.

10th/11th on wages. Not 7th/8thBrown Sauce wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 12:51 pm thrifty? over his tenure the club is 7th/8th in net transfer spend and (as pointed out) about the same on wages.
in the time he's been here Moyes has spent over £400m on about 25 players.
years on underinvestment by what benchmark?

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Some can't see past Moyes and think what we have achieved is our limit.. It is with him I believe and going backwards. If you think any manager coming in with the current ownership is going to deliver better than a cup and 6th/7th in the league then I think you are going to be disappointed. I’m sur...

Re: The kids are all right
I do find it odd that our U21s and U18s have been utterly amazing in recent seasons. Yet while the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea can often demand fees of £25m+ for their kids that barely break through, ours struggle for game time at clubs like Wycombe and Accrington Stanley when sent out on loan. I ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Seems to be quite a few posts today suggesting that ‘punching our weight’ is regularly qualifying for Europe and that’s what we should expect from Moyes or any new manager. Think that’s a stretch personally Typically England has 7 European places (appreciate may/will go to 8 some seasons). There are...

Qarabag would be great value just for the moments immediately after the draw when the camera pans to a smiling Mark Noble….

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread
If Paqueta is still out (or on the bench) I’d go with a back four of Coufal-Mavropanos-Ogbonna-Aguerd (yep, left back) and shift Emerson to left wing. Bowen on the right, Kudus central behind Antonio with Soucek and Alvarez in the double pivot. I’d rather we didn’t rush Paqueta back and then see him...
