Re: Jibbing to become unlawful.
It's never been 'allowed' but there's never been a consequence other than being slung out if caught. If legislation is passed you could get your collar felt and potentially a banning order. Well, good luck to the stewards/police. It'll only become a deterrent once people see it actually being enfor...

Re: Jibbing to become unlawful.
Amazed that it isn't unlawful already. The issue is enforcing it, though. The people in charge of preventing it aren't getting paid enough to care. You see it at the security checks, turnstiles, stop/go signs and, away from football, on the tube and at stations, and to be honest, I don't blame stewa...

Re: UEFA Europa League 2023-24
The one thing I think that draw doesn't do is provide a potential mood changer. An AC Milan, Roma, even Rangers would have helped accomplish getting everyone away from the noise about the manager. Might have to wait until the next round if we get through. Very much agree with this. It's another &qu...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
When was the last time we scored from a cross in open play? Cornet was after an Ings shot was deflected. Maybe Soucek against Arsenal if you count the prod back as a cross? But when was the last proper cross from a wide position and finished off by a player in the box? Soucek at Burnley, probably.

Re: West Ham United 6 Barnsley 0
My favorite memory of Abou was him appearing on Soccer AM, not long after he'd joined, and saying something along the lines of "the lads have been teaching me English swear words" then dropping an F-bomb live on Saturday morning TV. He was a fun player and had some great moments, but that ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Moyes himself has set a target of 5 wins. Or at least he did before the Forest game. It’s not about trying to win every game, it’s about picking the handful he thinks we can. This is a fair outlook when you're mired in a relegation scrap or crippled with injuries. Given we're currently only missing...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico
as great as the bloke is, and I LOVE watching him play, and am so happy he's with us, it's particularly galling that without him we seem unable to play at all. yes, other teams miss good and very good players. they "manage" but for us to look so completely lost without this ONE player is ...

Re: Players you completely forgot used to play for us
There's a couple of 'legendary' Pards signings that deserve a mention, even though they didn't ever play in a competitive game for us. Petr Mikolanda Sekou Baradji Moses Ashikodi 2005-era West Ham... Great days! Had to look up a couple of these. Moses Ashikodi's Wikipedia page is incredible. Had sp...

I remember him standing on the pitch watching Everton kicking the ball past him, but I'm not sure that counts as playing.Hermit_Road wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 4:27 pm Sasa Illic, although I think he was a short term loan and don't think he played much, if at all.

Re: Players you completely forgot used to play for us
Strange with a name like Dieter Eckstein! Feuer, I believe, is German for fire and is pronounced FOY ER (unless you are actually german and your pronunciation should take precedence) :smiler: The perils of choosing a random, and increasingly niche username 15 years ago. Funnily enough, if the real ...

Beanpole goalkeeper Ian Feuer. I definitely remember seeing him play for us away at Pride Park. Still no idea how to pronounce his surname.

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread
It's been a while since we've had a 'make or break' game for Moyes where he buys himself a bit of breathing space with a win, but I don't feel like this is it. This has got bleak, fairly straightforward defeat in front of boisterous home crowd written all over it - making Brentford at home the one w...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
My opinion, based on nothing more than a hunch, is that the 'fanbase' (however that is defined) is probably split about 50/50 in terms of those who would rather keep him next season, and those who would prefer to take a punt on someone new And most people are somewhere towards the middle of the spe...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
**** me this is tedious, the answer is to camouflage the seats? thats not the answer, the answer is less seats! The point I was making is that it looks rubbish with a load of white empty seats. It also looks like the club have spent the bare mimumum money on seats in the club's colours, so the plac...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I've been saying for years that we need more than the current smattering of claret and blue seats to make the stadium look and feel more like home. But I also think it would make a massive difference when there's a lower attendance for a cup game or fans have started leaving. Those white seats reall...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Moyes won't get a bigger job than West Ham United, no way. However, we may not find a better manager who is capable of working with our owner. This is a great point. Moyes is in a job that, on the face of it at least, a lot of much more glamorous managers would kill for. Sullivan keeps him in that ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Best I can come up with is we're most likely to concede against managers with strong hispanic accents and we're more likely to score against teams with flora or fauna on their badge.
