Re: Uruguay v Holland (S F)
Did anyone else notice Clive Tyldesly's almost snarling at van Bommel not getting booked several times and then pretty much coming in his pants when he finally did?

Guarenteed European winner outside of Europe for the first time. If the dagos can beat the krauts we'll be guaranteed a new winner aswell.

Re: The Sun's "hate" Campaign against the england squad
The obvious answer here is don't read the rag. I don't begrudge anyone a beer and a smoke after a **** day at the office. **** I do it every weekend. This is half the problem, we expect them to sit around and be whiter than white despite being bored shitless for most of the last month and more money...

Blimey, it's amazing how many people don't fully understand the offside rule. You can't be offside if you are behind the ball. Think about it, it's simple logic really.

Re: Ghana 1 Uruguay 1 aet (Uruguay win 4-2 on pens, QF)
When a player goes around the keeper, he still has to hit the target. He still has work to do. Just because he has got past the keeper, doesn't mean he will score. More often than not the attacker will, but we have all seen players miss open goals when you wouldn't believe it possible. When a playe...

Re: Who will win the WC?
The winner of the Spain/Germany semi should win it, I can't see the Dutch beating either of them. Germany have been the best team so far, but you don't know with this Spain team, they've gotten all this way riding on Villa's coat tails, if they turn it on and all play well you have to fancy them to ...

Re: Ghana 1 Uruguay 1 aet (Uruguay win 4-2 on pens, QF)
Uruguay got the result, but certainly didn't make any friends. And whilst I'm loathe to comment on press reports, the recent torrent of 'Hand of God' quotes from Suarez just turn my stomach. Mate I thought that was excellent and personally I applaud Suarez for his reaction. Backs against the wall a...

Re: The England post - mortem (World Cup 2010)
TBF Several mates of mine who don't support West Ham have said the same both before the WC and since England's defeat. The only reason we could come up with for him not going was worries over the number of cards he might pick up. Interestingly I've heard other people say that if Parker was playing ...

Re: Player of the tournament?
only joking would have to be between Villa, Sneijder ,Mueller or Schweinsteiger. + Suarez. Uruguay have been good to watch. I must have been the only one who wanted them to beat Ghana. Solid at the back, hard working midfield, creative up front, a good team throughout that works hard and is greater...

Re: Which English players would start on any final 8 team
As individuals, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Cashley, maybe Rio. I'd even say David James could play in goal for Spain given that Castillas hasn't looked great so far. The issue isn't that we don't have good players, it's that they don't seem to play well for England.

Re: End of anti goal line technology argument?
Video replays for key incidents in the penalty area. Goals, key offside decisions, red cards etc. The ref can stop and confer with the linesman, why the **** couldn't he confer with a video ref? It's not hard, he can blow up and stop the game if there's a head injury, why not stop the game to check ...

Re: Euro 2012 qualifiers - who to retain from current squad
Our midfield was crying out for a Scott Parker yesterday. The Oezil wouldn't have been half as good if he'd been bullied even just a little. It's the little things that we do so so wrong. No holding midfielder. No left footed midfielder. Lennon and SWP - you need to take their finger prints to tell...

They let themselves down, but as for letting the rest of the country down, maybe we'd be in a position to gripe if we didn't **** them off everytime they didn't piss all over the opposition.

Re: Wayne Rooney
Everybody knew before the tornament that if Wayne didn't play well, we won't do well. This is why England will never win the world cup, we put waaaaaay too much emphasis on one star player. It was inevitable that Rooney wouldn't fire, the whole country expected him to turn it on like a tap and then...

Italy and France were both considered to have easy groups, and yet they're both out. We were considered to have an easy group too, and we struggled. It might well work in our favour that we haven't got the 'easy' route to the Semis. You never know.

The Respect campaign is I believe one of the better FIFA initiatives , and an extremely belated attempt to get some sportsmanship back into the game . It's a total load of b*llocks while refs are encouraged to book any 'overly aggressive' tackle i.e. ones where there is physical contact, and whilst...

You can buy most of those German beers in Tesco in the selected foreign lagers section. Paulaner in particular they did on draught when I was in Italy last and is a lovely beer.
