I remember driving into London down the A13 every morning at about 8:30 in the middle lane as I was the only car in sight.kenthammer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:25 pm Lockdown was probably the only time I enjoyed driving at work

Re: Things that are gone that you miss
I definitely enjoyed the first lockdown and missed it later. I spent a lot of time with the kids, and in the garden. We were fortunate that the weather that year from March to June as I recall was sunny and hot nearly every day. Compare to last year where I did a lot of lates, worked a lot of weeken...

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-
It's gonna be tough for all those socially awkward teenagers who need cigarettes to look cool. It's also going to be hard to police, and unlikely to get any sort of proper enforcement for the next few years at least. It also only refers to sales, not the act of smoking itself, so presumably someone ...

Re: Little things that irritate you
I wouldn't recommend it at the moment, might be different for you as you may have some decent contacts, but in my experience and over the last few years, everyone has piled in on the SE, meaning you often earn just a tad more than someone who is employed, but taking all the risk and having to cover...

Hearing some of the deluded drivel she's coming out with like it's all the lefts fault she was slung out, she wanted to abolish the Environment agency (so even more **** could be pumped into our rivers probably) etc it's genuinely worrying how the Tories thought she'd be a credible leader. She's co...

I was promoted at work a few weeks back, but the pay rise was only £3800 including cost of living rise.
Most other people who were not promoted have been given almost as much as me just cost of living rise.
I'm honestly tempted to sack off being salaried staff and go self employed.

If we win, yes quite likely Thursday 18th April 2024 goes down in West Ham folklore.clawhammer wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 4:45 pm This could be the greatest night of our football lives. We should all do our best to help make it happen.
It's a mighty big if right now though.

Likely outs: Johnson, Aguerd, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Kehrer, Downes, Phillips, Paqueta, Benrahma. Possible outs: Zouma, Cornet, Ings, Antonio. Likely to stay: Areola, Fabianski, Coufal, Mavro, Emerson, Alvarez, JWP, Soucek, Bowen, Kudus. There's a couple you could maybe move between groups there - prob...

Re: Out of Contract Players June 30 2024
Who should we keep and for how long ? Coufal most likely, especially given that Johnson will be off. Antonio depends on if we can move Ings on. If we're looking to buy a new striker (big if), we don't need Antonio plus Ings sitting on the bench taking up a chunk of the wage budget. The rest will mo...

Re: Summer Holidays
We've managed to get 10 days in the Costa del Sun during the school holidays for a smidge over three and a half bags, which I didn't think was bad all things considering.
It'll be the first foreign holiday for all of them, albeit Sendo Jr #1 went abroad when he was a baby, and he's now nearly 10.

Re: In other news
There's been a rare outbreak of common sense in north west London, where a non faith school has had it's decision to ban in school prayers upheld by the high court. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68731366 The school argued its prayer policy was justified after it faced death and bomb t...
