Wasn't this the WC with the infamous fixed group game between Germany and Austria?

Re: How Do You See The League Shaping Up?

Yeah there's been nothing done by either of them thus far to suggest they'll improve at all on how they finished last season.

Man Utd in particular need a massive overhaul.

Re: Grow 2021/2

Anyone know a bit about hydrangeas? I've got one in the garden at the moment in a medium sized pot. Early last spring I got a bit carried away cutting it back - far to harshly and far too early. A subsequent frost got it and I thought it was a gonner. It eventually grew back last summer and looked o...

Why couldn’t they roll out the pill for all men or bring out a rule that all men should have the snip as soon as they are sexually capable.
Because of bodily autonomy, which is the entire point here GP.

The original post. BBBB said himself that it probably sounded like hyperbole, and with good reason - it does. Tbh it's not just around the so-called "trans debate". This sort of thing seems to happen with any and all debates and discussions around anything in the age of social media. Every...

Re: TfL Bailout - sign of things to come?

You do perhaps see some sort of flaw in that argument - such as who pays for it? It's funny. The money can always be found when the government needs to bung the DUP some money to keep them in power. The money can always be found when we need several billion to bung to MP's chums for a world beating...

Too much still depends on business yet to be done to call this yet.

Probably one to do in the week before the season opener.

I really like him.

The bit at the end is key, something along the lines of "no working class person should have to beg to get fair terms and conditions".

Re: Allison Bailey

I see this thread has inevitably descended into farce with people throwing around words like "genocide" in relation to trans people, at a time when rights, visibility and acceptance of such people has never been higher or more normalised.

It's language like this that gets people's backs up.

Re: Cost of living crisis

Increased revenue does not lead to increased profits especially not in the case. More often than not mortgages from banks are as a result of they themselves borrowing money from the markets. When the base rate increases, typically LIBOR (currently being phased out for SONIA) also increases. If the ...

Re: Cost of living crisis

As we all know, it isn't public sector pay or pay rises for the average worker that is driving inflation. It's fuel costs and food costs primarily. In the great game, this is just another opportunity for the ruling class to drive down wages for the working classes. After all, you don't see governmen...

Re: US Abortion Laws

The fundamental issue with US politics is they hang everything on what is or is not stated in a document written nearly 250 years ago. The world has moved on but many Americans have not. Unfortunately the way their system is it's very difficult to amend any of that document, particularly when there ...

Actually no, the best bit is his point about syphoning public money into private companies, which the Tories are the absolute ****ing worst at and yet they never, ever get properly called out on it.

Come on mate that's buttons in the grand scheme of things.

I'm merely pointing out that the government are doing what they're doing for a reason, and hypothesising as to why they think they can get away with it.

Re: TfL Bailout - sign of things to come?

Yes, they're investing heavily in rail and want to push people off of the roads, but the reality is strikes do not have the impact they once did because people not longer HAVE to use them to work - they can simply work from home. Out of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday travelling by train to work thi...

Yeah a polytunnel's a good shout Tenners. I'd ideally like to build a cold frame or better still a greenhouse at the back, but the kids will 100% destroy it with their footballs, so I'll probably have to suffer a few more years of herbal disappointment until they're all old enough to sign for West H...

Re: TfL Bailout - sign of things to come?

The government seem to want to escalate strikes. There must be a reason. They probably think they can win a long battle that'll drive down workers rights, wages and costs in the process. Ultimiately much like with the coal strikes of old we don't need the trains now like we used to. The RMT need to ...
