Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

4 wins in 25 games against top 10 sides for Southgate.

That’s utterly embarrassing.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

We just can’t match the top sides under Southgate, even in friendlies.

Such a fraud of a manager.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

Chilwell and Gallagher look so out of their depth.

Brazil are so much better at football than us.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

I think it is great he is in the squad. He is better than any other alternatives. It isn't as though the England management would only have just known about him. He was earmarked as one to watch ages ago Better him than Henderson You can’t say he looks better than anyone based on 14 league games. S...

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

It does make me laugh that Kobbie Mainoo is straight in the squad.

He looks decent but let’s all be honest, if he played to exact same level while playing for Brentford or Burnley or Fulham he’d be nowhere near the squad.

Kid has only played 14 league games in his career. What a farce.

Re: VAR 2023/24

The audio has been released on the last minute Villa goal that wasn't.

It sounds like they are desperate to disallow it, even rolling the tape back to look for a phantom offside as that would be easier to disallow it with.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

He's a good utility player to keep around - just not to be brought on for a striker with forty minutes left in a game.

He'd be a smart freebie for the vast majority of teams in the league. Cups, Europe, homegrown quota, etc.

Re: The next 6 games...

Point at Newcastle, point at Wolves and two home wins and we can start thinking of a top 8 finish again.

Anything other than 8 points from 4 games and sadly we'll be looking at mid-table.

As for Leverkusen, who knows. They're unbeaten but also nearly lost to ten men from Azerbaijan.

Re: 🚗 🚌 🚅 ✈ The Away Game & Match Day Logistics Thread

Booked for Cologne, all on trains as it was half the price and not much different time wise by the time you factor in all the security stuff and arrival times at airports.

Hotel in Cologne booked, cab from Cologne to Leverkusen is about 20 minutes and 30 Euros.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

We made that sub because 1. Antonio is knackered and can't handle two games of such intensity 2. Digne was providing a lot of Aston Villa chances - I believe in the middle part of the game Aston Villa had 7 chances to our 0, and we created more chances after the change. Sure, at face value you can ...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

  As many other posters have pointed out Billy, the other team does have an impact on how your team plays. Villa changed some things 2nd half and obviously being 0-1 down and being a pretty decent side had a very good 20-25 minutes. As far as I could see Moyes was not on the pitch pla...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Surely that's down to the players not the manager? No, we were on the front foot because we were set up so. We shifted to a more negative set up by taking off our nuisance of a front man and replacing him with a second right back. We then had no out ball, our right winger who pegged their left back...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Second half I saw the legs go personally. A bi-product of flogging the same XI players all game every game twice a week. Multiple blame there. So basically our players were dead on their feet and we didn't have the right replacements as we sold our only other options and never replaced them but act...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

so, surely credit Moyes with how he set us up first half ? I dont agree we sat back in the second. To my eyes it looked like Antonio tired, as a consequence the ball kept coming back at us, and they forced us back. Moyes then hooked Antonio, and while you dont like his subs, we did get an improved ...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Bowen has illustrated he is our best Alternative on a number of occasions, but the real issue is we lack a genuine bench option. By hook or by crook though we created 3 or 4 really good chances after Antonio went off. Interesting you comment on Villa playing it out poorly from the back. Why do you ...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Do you believe Danny is currently able to lead the line ? Ive seen no evidence of him being able to do that. What did you see of Bowen second half that made you think he could do it? To be frank, the reason no one could do it was because the manager sh*t the bed and put as many men in the back line...
