Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

It was a total unnecessary move to Stratford However for the life of me can I remember any protests or opposition to it going ahead. Correct me if I’m wrong. Some of us tried. Most polls showed that fans didn't want to move there but we were shouted down on KUMB and told we had no ambition for the ...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

The first thing we should do to improve the atmosphere would be to take the wall down.
This ridiculous over-reaction to some minor incidents has resulted in the most vocal section of the ground becoming quiet, those who wish to sing even more scattered about the stadium and an even worse atmosphere.

I'd forgotten Man City (was that with Roger the Relegator?), Reading & Liverpool.
I was at all three of those.

Six or More

I’m trying to remember other games when I’ve seen us concede six or more. 6.1 at QPR (FA Cup) about 1978 6.0 at Everton a few years ago 7.1 (FA Cup) and at least one 6.0 at Man Utd (also FA Cup I think) A 6.0 at Arsenal and 6.0 at Sunderland (I think) were a year or so before I started going away. 6...

Farmers starting to show their dissatisfaction with the effects of Brexit. I reckon those in the fishing industry will follow suit soon. BBC News - Dover farmer protests organiser says action could escalate https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-68261249 The vast majority of farmers & fishe...

Good results for us today.
We are competing with Brighton, Newcastle, Wolves, Chelsea & maybe Man Utd for 7th and getting back into Europe next season.

It's still a rule (and a good one) but for reasons unknown it's been decided not to enforce it.

The DJ - Another one now

Another DJ last night. Our own PA man was very excited about him. But what is the point? The bloke was in his own world, jigging about and playing excessively loud music, while ignored by the crowd. Possibly justified for big European games (although I’d rather leave the crowd to make a real atmosph...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bournemouth - Match Thread

Don't know if this has been mentioned already, but check if your NFC ticket has downloaded correctly. A few of us found we had the Arsenal ticket already showing but not Bournemouth. You'll need to go in your account and download it if this is the case. Mine downloaded Brentford from December 2022!...

Interestingly they are on average a slightly shorter odds for the Europa than we are.

Re: Ben Johnson

Definitely shouldn’t be sold.
The sort of versatile player that a club needs.
And his sub performance at Bristol & Sheffield suggest a possible new role in midfield. I was impressed with both.

Re: Sheffield Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

Referees have a split second to make a decision in real time. They will always make mistakes. VAR was supposed to correct these errors but gets it wrong too often, leading to accusations of bias and protecting referees. Sheffield’s penalty was clearly an error. Bowen’s should have been checked (eith...

Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread

However in practice most 'linesmen' consider, or are told that, their duties are: Flag for a throw in if it's obvious which team kicked it out. If not wait for the referee to decide and point your flag in the appropriate direction. Flag for offside at least ten seconds after the offside player has t...

West Ham Programmes

Having recently cleared our parents’ house I’ve decided that I need to get rid of some of my stuff and my programme collection has to go. I’ve got most home games and a lot of aways from about 1975 – 1990 (I think) after which time they are more sporadic and as part of my protest haven’t bought any ...
