Re: Return of The I've Been To The Cinema To See thread

the second part has gotten fantastic reviews. Chalamet was quoted as saying he hoped there would be a part 3 so to speak. Well having now seen Part 2 Oss I think I'd be stupefied if there wasn't a Part 3. This latest definitely had the feel of a "middle movie" rather than a concluding cha...

Re: Return of The I've Been To The Cinema To See thread

I am a little confused about these new movies. Is it a kind of Star Wars idea, where spin off narratives have been created, or are these new ones remakes, albeit stretched over two films? Doesn't get much love, that one, but I'm a fan anyway. Never read the books and I really should remedy that at some st...

Not as a kid myself but took my son maybe ten years ago. Cracking place, I thought. Toy museum there as well iirc. My son got mugged by a goat for his bag of animal feed.

Gentlemen, if you want to be explicitly critical of other West Ham forums, we'd really rather you did so on those specific platforms.

I've kissed the Blarney Stone over in The Land of Saints and Scholars. I've oft been thought a wit and a wordsmith sithence.

Also, I fingered some tart up Hadleigh Castle.

Re: The Wrestling Thread: WWE, AEW etc.

Michael Jones, known throughout his WWE tenure in the late 80s/early 90s as Virgil, has died. Specifics have not been made public yet but he revealed in 2022 that he'd had a couple of strokes, he'd been diagnosed with dementia and also with stage 2 colon cancer. He was 61. Last night: The Iron Claw (Durkin, 2023) Throughout the 70s and on into the mid 80s, former wrestler Jack "Fritz" Von Erich ran a wrestling promotion out of Texas called WCCW or World Class Championship Wrestling. By the late 70s the stars of the promotion were his own sons Kevin (the olde...

Sometimes there's little more you can (or need to) do other than be there, Pablo.

You're a good'un, mate. One of the best of us. In you, your wife has all the support she's going to need, even if you're not entirely convinced of that just now.

Re: Today's celebrity death is...

As teenagers there was a host of movies that we watched on VHS such as Lemon Popsicle , Porky’s , The Wanderers and The Warriors ... those halcyon days of going round mates houses sitting down and watching this genre of films with a bottle of Olde English cider and 10 Benson & Hedges Gold. The ...

Re: Today's celebrity death is...

For me personally, The Warriors is one of the greatest movies of its decade (a decade packed with cracking movies, of course). It beats out The Wanderers on almost every front. It's close, though; beyond its sophomoric Porkys -lite hi-jinx, The Wanderers has unexpected depth and heart. And forget Th...
