Re: What did you watch last night?
Temple on Sky. 4 episodes in and it's pretty good. Stories behind the initial story.
Re: What did you watch last night?
Brassic - Sky Box Sets.
Very enjoyable, some real laugh out loud moments, especially if you've ever walked off the straight goer path and are laughing at elements of your former self as I was.
It's pretty much the same kind of stories Shameless mined, but on a smaller scale with better actors, writing and more rounded characters. It builds nicely over the six episodes.

A feature writer in The Standard earlier in the week gave Top Boy the most positive review I have ever read, and that includes the four evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John reviewing Jesus life and work in their respective books of the Bible.simonirons wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:33 pm First 4 episodes of Top Boy
Really enjoying it. - Was concerned the Drake factor may have killed it, but looks like he's left it to be the original raw show it always was.

City on the Hill
Kevin Bacon stars as a bent FBI agent Jackie Rohr trying to take down a gang of robbers in Boston. Watched the first 2 episodes on Sky Atlantic. Loved it !!!

Alpha. A really lovely little fillum and visually stunning to boot, that I'd recommend to everyone.
Night before that Kes, for the first time ever. Another classic crossed off the 'to see before you die' list.

BBC2 9pm 19/9/19. '1944: Should We Bomb Auschwitz?'
An explanation of why the allies did what they did, or didn't do.
Personally, at the very least I would have done some low level bombing of all the railway lines leading to the camp, but it's very easy for me to say that now, in 2019.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Brassic and City on The Hill are both on my " to watch" list.
Watched opening episode of The Loudest Voice which was rather underwhelming. I'm a big fan of Russell Crowe and was looking forward to this but episode 1 didn't grab my attention, rather dull. I'll persevere but already have one finger on the eject button!

Star Trek : Beyond Finally caught up with this. A fun film but the premise is a bit preposterous even by ST standards. I enjoyed it though and it was very watchable.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Nazi Cavemen - or how the Nazi brainwashed millions of people regarding the Aryan Race. Pseudo science, occultism, esotericism and very tenuous historical links all combine to "prove" an historical linage to a group of people that really came from Persia! All planned with great detail of course. A fine example of how you can fool all of the people some of the time. As for the Nazi's Ahnenerbe (Hitler's prehistoric research institute), I'm amazed that only the head got executed while most others got off scot free. A well produced, interesting programme with such notables a James Holland.

Re: What did you watch last night?
I think series 5 started slowly but found its feet by episode 4 and then we had two vintage Peaky episodes culminating in last night's tense finale which certainly did not disappoint. Stonking episode.
Roll on series 6 but don't expect to see it before 2021.

Re: What did you watch last night?
For the first time, I thought this show is beginning to look tired.
