Little things that irritate you

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

When someone stole some money from my account, my bank Natwest decided to text me.

I assumed their text was a phishing attempt and ignored it. I realised it was real nearly a week later when I couldn't buy anything online.

With the amount of c**** out there trying to scam everyone, it's always best to err on the side of caution.

I had the same when some **** from Play Del Carmen in Mexico, was trying to withdraw money from my account, it's only because I had recently been there, that I decided to ring the bank to find out if it was legit.

These stupid cows have made millions from Disney and have now decided to slag them off. Bet they wouldn't dream of giving back the paycheque.

Service providers must be in on it, selling phone numbers or other bits of information.

you just need to answer like an obnoxious ****:
charity about kids in africa starving and without medical help? i bloody hate kids, i hope they all die suffering!
"i'm going to south america next month to help with..." good! f*** off and don't come back!
help for homeless people? i used to go burn them alive in the good all days!
religious groups? if your god exist, he's a **** and i'll f*** his arse!
cancer research? it's god's will, if you have cancer you deserve to die!

they'll be shocked enough to not be able to reply and you'll hardly break stride.
and they won't bother you a second time.
and most of all, it's good fun!

I won’t be allowing my children to watch films with Keara Knightley in them, because she’s such a laughably sh*t actress.

Just hope it never reaches the same popularity here as it does in the US or Canada. http://fortune.com/2016/10/31/americans ... ween-2016/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Even in Canada it's mental how much is spent on this, temporary stores opening up for 6 weeks prior to the night, all full of Far Eastern tat, I'm talking some store of 5000 sq ft plus all the $ stores and there plenty of them everywhere.

I'm with you. I'd make them only available to properly licensed public events.

Yup - fireworks sold in supermarkets are an utter nuisance. At the very least, they shouldn't be able to sell the noise-making ones that do nothing more than make an antisocial racket and scare children and pets.

a) You can disable purchasing via Alexa (obviously the first thing I did when I got ours last year).
b) It's quite handy for streaming music to the kitchen. Sometimes, you just have to dance round the kitchen, mostly to 60s/70s/80s Soul.
c) Fair point, no-one should be bragging about owning one.
