Do they need specialist access equipment to change the lights? As in a boom or cherry picker?

I think that's where the main costs are going.

Myself and The Lovely Ms. Eggs live in a block of seven flats and the property management company we had before our current one were worse than useless; they dragged their heels on everything. The final straw was when they said all the soffits needed replacing at a cost of around £30,000 (about £4,500 per flat) and not to worry as they had everything in hand, even fobbing us off when we said we'd get some quotes. Needless to say, after a meeting between them and us flat owners, we parted ways, to which they said we owed them £1,400. We replied with something on the lines of "See you in court" and we've never heard anything since.

The property management business is a licence to print money.

Sorry to say that you couldn't get away with using a step ladder, is it council or private?

Not sure what the gig is with private, but council have to offer you a section 20, which means that you can try alternative contractors.
TBH though, the hoop's you have to jump through make it a proper ballache

Ain't that the truth. My flat in Wood Green was managed by Pier Management based out of Southend. They tried billing me nearly 200 sheets cos I had a satellite dish on the front of the gaff. They said my lease term prevented me from putting up satellite dishes and they were fining me 200 for that. I politely told them that my lease was drawn up in 1948 when MAN HADN'T EVEN BEEN ON THE ****ing MOON SO THEY CAN STICK THEIR DEMAND FOR MONEY UP THEIR COLLECTIVE ARIS ... they never bothered me again.

Even if I had the dough I'm not at all sure that I'd want to live there.
It's like a bunch of people living on someone's grave.
I wonder how many GSB own or are going to own...

Toasters that cook faster on one side than the other.

Side 1, perfect light tan
Side 2, dark brown, needs a scrape

O2 are irritating me. Both myself and Mrs BCC have had Sim only deals for a couple of years now and have saved a bundle of cash in the process however, in the last couple of months we've both experienced people ringing us and them not being able to get through. Our phones might be sitting on the kitchen worktop with a full signal but still callers are unable to connect. 2 Hours later we may or may not get a voicemail.
I've spoken to them and they suggested turning wifi calling on which says to me they're deliberately messing with our phone somehow in order to get us to upgrade to something that actually makes them money...or am I being a cynical old git?
If it were just one of the phones I could understand it being a glitch but both at the same time? Hmmmm....something fishy going on I reckon.
I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't rely on my phone for work.
