Most insurance is a complete bloody fiddle in my eyes.
I dont bother with house contents insurance, and as far as I can tell if you get a leak and your ceiling is ruined, that have a list of 250 reasons why they wont pay out.

Earlier on I saw a homeless bloke, clearly a few cans in, sat on the corner leaning on a lampost, singing "Meet the Flintstones" through a traffic cone.

Even better was some posh bloke who looked like he too had a liquid lunch, gushing over how great he was and chucking him a quid.

If we ever have another crowd protest below the posh seats, please can we all throw octopuses (the standard English plural of octopus) at David Sullivan & co.
I would personally find it quite amusing to see Sully wearing a face-hugger.

Saw an old dear about 80ish at the self service, red light flashing, young lad comes over to help, helps her pack/pay, he was very polite and lovely with her. So she grabbed his face and stuck a big kiss on his lips and said "thank you young man" and trundled off.

Lad was bright red and didn't know what to do! I did feel for him, but it did make me smile. As I walked off I said "you pulled there" which he just looked down and walked off.

She was at customer service saying about the young lad and that he deserves an award :)

I know I know, if it was the other way round with an old fella and a young lady....

Seeing a fat bloke carrying an overloaded plate out of the canteen, hurrying to get the lift (couldn't possibly use the stairs to go down a single floor), tripping on his way in & lobbing food everywhere, including over a couple other people.

Most satisfactory. Am going to speak to building security to see if they've got video footage.

My daughter's class has a trip to the local synagogue today. I told her to ask the Rabbi why the Jews helped kill God's son. Doubt she will, but would be amusing to hear the answer.

It's my 14-month old that's the racist, not my eldest.

1. Daughter asks question.
2. PC Class teacher interrogates daughter.
3 Daughter bursts into tears and says "Daddy told me to say it"

Dan, this isn't helping your "I'm not teaching my kids to be racist" defence.

Although do share the answer, if he gives one.

She's no grass, but they'd probably guess, then:

4. Daddy goes to prison for 40 years for upsetting someone.

Small beer in the scheme of things, but three things made me smile. Finishing my Creative Writing MA, celebrating it with a bottle of single malt, and further rewarding myself by shopping for a new gaming PC. It's a bit like Christmas, but without guests and unwanted shower gel gift sets.

There's ping pong and table football, too, but I'm only interested in the pool table. I'll let you know when I'm crowned work champion, should take me a day or so.

Still p*ssed off about that. 25 years of holding contents insurance and never once making a claim, then being turned down because my horrendously overpriced policy didn't cover it.
Around 20 / 25 years or so ago I bought new double glazed windows to replace the old wooden framed windows that were fitted in our house when we moved in - I carried them down to our house and they were leaning against the outside wall of the gable end - It was a lovely sunny day , no wind whatsoever but later on that day I found one of them on its side with the double glazed pane smashed . I phoned our insurance people thinking ' No way are they going to pay out on this ' but as it turned out they couldn't have been more helpful and they paid to have the window re-glazed .
