Popped down to my local nature reserve at Ham Common here in Dorset at 7am this morning, and was privileged enough to see 2 of our local osprey chicks heading off on migration to Africa. I couldn't get any decent pictures, but it was a genuine spine-tingle to see these magnificent birds of prey heading off, the hope being they will be back here in Poole Harbour around April next year. It always blows my mind that they find their way all the way to the same hunting grounds around Ghana then come back and find the exact same spot in the summer here. Nature's incredible. 8-)

Sad deserted shore, your fickle friends are leaving,
Ah, but then you know, it's time for them to go....

Old boy in Gregg's round the corner from me this morning, must have been in his late 60s. West Ham tracksuit with what looks like his own lettering sewn on the back with claret and blue dyed hair. Brilliant. I think I made his day when I said COYI to him, he went nuts

Best part of AH's day was when some Herbert shouted COYI at him in Greggs.

Happy birthday weekend, tiger.

Walking the dogs over the back field this morning and a Spitfire flew over, quite low. You cannot beat the sound of a RR Merlin engine.

There's one thing to beat the sound of a Merlin engine, two Merlin engines:

Been following a team of people restoring a Mossie to it's former glory in the view to it flying. Fascinating aircraft and also my favourite aeroplane of WWII along with the Hawker Typhoon.
