Liver, bacon & onions in gravy with bubble & squeak.
The best thing was the whole meal probably cost about £2.50.

Roast Beef, Yorkshire Puds, broccoli, carrots and green beans, roast tatties and roast parsnips. Beautiful.

Most prawns we eat are frozen. You just need to cook them quickly but not too overcook them. This way the prawn won't lose moisture.ageing hammer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 8:37 pm I love prawns but I have tried a few times to cook them and I end up throwing them away.
I tried to make prawns pil pil but they taste awful no matter what I do.
I think it's because I am buying frozen prawns and thawing them out but I cannot find fresh ones anywhere.
Any help welcome

Re: the dinner thread
Steak sandwich.
So I took some day old, overly soft overly doughy french stick from Sainbury's, rubbed some water on it and binged it in the oven to actually cook it. Then, a Lidl cheapo sirloin steak, perfect medium rare ~3m per side and then about 5 mins to rest, slice thinly, and laid delicately in the freshly cooked butted stick on a bed of baby spinach & balsamic vinegar, and topped with a generous blob of dijon mustard.
Honestly, it was one of the best things I've eaten in a while.

It's been a while.
Haggis, neeps and tatties and the single malt may take a bit of a kicking in a bit.

I’ve missed this thread. Celebrating Burns night with a traditional beef in (homemade) black bean sauce. To make it extra Scottish, I’m having it with some 6.7 Grimbergen beer I picked up from France last weekend.
