Pablo - The Malmo scene is lovely, I like the colours in your first shot too, but would echo the comment about the branches on the left.

Matt - the shots of the train and little girl are a really nice well-timed captures, I like the arch/hole in the wall to, but for me it it needs something to grab the eye, a point of focus if you like. Have to agree with DL, invest in a camera if you can mate

DL - The Brecon Beacons shot is an absolute beauty 8-)
I quite like the shot of Rochester Castle too.

Cheers Eggchaser.

If I were to get myself a proper camera, what would you recommend? It would need to be 2nd hand probably as I'd be on a tight budget!!

Canon EOS600D or 700D. Can get a good one on ebay with lens for around 200 quid.

Another one I took the other morning when it was frosty. Image was too large to upload originally, and only just got around to resizing it!

Eggchaser - thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

Matt - I’d recommend the Canon too. My daughter has just started a degree in Photography and says that her entry level camera is good - EOS 2000D.

DL - great winter pics!

I don't think there's much difference in the functionality or quality of any of the major brands Matt.

Canon and Nikon are probably the most common and easy to find 2nd hand.
I use Sony, largely because back in the days of film I had a Minolta camera and so my lenses were compatible with the Sony Digital camera. I really like the quality of my Sony kit, however, my gear is Sony A-mount which has largely been rendered obsolete by the introduction of Sony's E-mount system which is where all of their future development is going. If I were to buy Sony kit now I'd go for an E-mount camera.

A Sony A7 is probably an equivalent to the Canon that DL has recommended and can be picked up quite easily on Ebay.

My advice would be, if you can, pay a visit to a camera shop or a store like Currys and try handling some models, see which make feels best in your hands and then see what is available in that make within your budget, either new or 2nd hand.
