Birmingham City 1 West Ham Utd 0 (12/12/09)

What do we reckon the take up on this will be? Ordinarily i'd definitely have enough points, but got a 3rd person coming along who has 0 points.

At £20 a ticket and easy to get to, I fear I may not get to this one.

Already booked train tickets for this, yet to buy match tickets though.

Very reasonable ticket prices.

People being priced out since the invention of the PL, recession and a general disillusionment with modern football more recently, that's my theory.

but £20 to watch Birmingham v West Ham you can't complain about especially when my current local side, Northampton Town who are in the Second Division charge £18!

It's £15 at the moment with London Midland from London Euston Station.

Booked mine through trainline.com. Got return tickets to Birmingham New Street for £14 although I did book these on 1st October so not sure if you can still get at this price.

So let's get this right. £20 for a ticket, and £15 train from Euston, and what, a fiver from Upminster to Euston? 40 quid, 45 tops and a bit of grub.

Getting on that phone to the ticket office Tuesday me thinks.

I am a season ticket holder but haven't done an away match in years.

Full credit to those who spend there hard earned money on away days.

But me and My brother are gonna do this one and cannot wait. :raver:

Quick question about this one lads, how far is the ground from the stations, more specifically Birmingham Snow Hill? Different trains go to different stations, and atm you can get a return to Snow Hill for £19.50, or its £26.00 if you want to do euston to new street and back. Wasn't going to do this one, money being the main reason but at £20 a ticket and £20 travel thought why not..

Cheapest train is Euston to New Street on London Midland - but takes about an hour longer than Virgin and there's no buffet. Chiltern from Marylebone takes slightly less than Midland and price usually a bit more. Virgin do have some very cheap advance tickets but these tend to sell out, especially when there is football.

You can walk from any of the stations to the ground, but it is a fair way and takes maybe half hour, or can catch a bus.

And most online sites sell the tickets (although for some reason not always London Midland - their own site does though). TRainline used to charge a booking fee (not sure if it still does) so I never use it, but all almost train operating companies have sites that sell any ticket.

thx for that, yeah london midland is a bit cheaper, £7 train there from euston which takes just under an hour and half, and £12.50 back, takes another hour and goes to marylebone instead of euston but not the end of the world. Nice cheap away trip

Got 4 this morning, including a kids one for my 6yr old nephew - his first away game.

Thought I'd chuck him in at the deep end to give some stick to the Brummies :)
