I've got my ticket for this but I am in two minds whether I should bother going.
Bloody sad but in our predicament we should put our kid's out for this and concentrate on our PL survival.
Arsenal do play lovely football, Romford will vouch for that.

Re: West Ham United vs Arsenal : FA Cup Match Thread
Lets just put out the youth team and give the players a break, would be a good game to boycott as well.

Same here, I know what you saying, I feel it's going to be a massive dissapointment and the club have f**ked up big time on prices.beckton wrote:I've got my ticket for this but I am in two minds whether I should bother going.

Re: West Ham United vs Arsenal : FA Cup Match Thread
I doubt Zola will change this around too much, although i expect some to be rested.
......................Green...................
Faubert...Tomkins...Upson....Spector
...............Kovac.....Parker...............
.....Behrami..................Stanislas.....
..................Diamanti......................
.......................Nouble...................
Bench: Stech, Daprela, da Costa, Payne, Jimenez, Collison, Noble
If Parker & Noble aren't fit then it'll probably be Jimenez on field & with probably Oliver Lee/ N'gala on the bench (your guess is as good as mine)
But i expect Parker and Noble to be fit. I don't really expect any players to NEED a rest apart from Parker, Collison and maybe Diamanti, but i reckon Zola will want to win this and we aint gonna win without Parker and Diamanti.
I'm gonna be at this game and yet again it's gonna be an amazing atmosphere under the lights. Expecting Wenger to put out a young side with the exception of Silvestre.
We've done very well at home of late and i'm predicting a shock 2-1 win to the Irons.
Nouble to play a blinder debut and get two assists with Behrami ans Stanislas scoring

Don't give a f***...
Should be the game where we try some new things out and some new players. Hopefully it will be the game where Da Costa shows he should start.
I know it's Arsenal and everything...but I'm just looking to Wolves.

Save Upson, Diamanti and Behrami for a start...

We will know quite a bit vis-a-vis the transfer window when the team is announced on Sunday. Obviously Cole is out, but Parker could make it, and Upson should. If Upson doesnt start, then we must start sweating.
The Club must recall Fred Sears poste haste. We need a striker with some experience. The fact that he hasnt played well in a while is irrelevant. He is our only recognised striker, who has started Premiership games.
Hopefully one of Parker or Upson will start. Rob Green may also be of concern.

Re: West Ham United vs Arsenal : FA Cup Match Thread
They have games immediately before and after in the league and posted new injuries for Fabregas and Denilson yesterday. Still no Bentner nor RVP (of course).
Evidently, their reserves to whom they will turn are of a different standard to ours, but I can see that, if its bitingly cold and we give them the kind of game we recently gave Chelsea, we could have a go at intimidation of what will be a young, mainly foreign team.
So long as the team get stuck in, I am looking forward to this being a game that the team actually deserve to have - drama, fight and a bit of luck could see us through this game.
But a realist has to see a replay as the true target. That clean sheet went up in smoke a bit quick after all.
2 each
(Kovac and Stanislas)
Edited after realising that goalmachineFranco is having a rest.

If fit, he'll play a blinder. As he did against Villa and Chelsea.

Re: West Ham United vs Arsenal : FA Cup Match Thread
Reckon I'd rest all the important players we can. Would go with something like:
---------------------------Stech-----------------------------
---Faubert------DaCosta---Spector-----Daprela---
---------------------------Kovac-----------------------------
------Diamanti---------Noble---------Stanislas------
--------------------------Jiminez---------------------------
--------------------------Nouble-----------------------------
I know this team would probably lose comfortably, even to Arse's kids but we can't afford to lose anymore key players.

Re: West Ham United vs Arsenal : FA Cup Match Thread
I for one am really looking forward to this match. Get some younger players in and see what they can do
Would love a cup run but we have some vital fixtures this month and need to avoid any injury possible. The younger players will be well up for it anyway and it will be good to see some new faces in the team.

I'm probably still sobering up from Christmas then, because, as much as I actually expect a beating, I am still looking forward to it.dapablo wrote:everyone seems too depressed to be bothered with this game at all
I was actually nicing up the lovely Mrs p:m on the basis of an away trip to Fratton later in the month too.
Relegation tussles with half a squad of fit players! Bring it on!
