LCQF: West Ham Utd 4 Man Utd 0 (30/11/10)
At least we have a deserved win under our belts.
Will he stick with Reid, or revert to Faubert?
He'll hopefully retain all other defenders from today's starting line up.
I'd revert to LBM personally, because, as much as he did brighten in today's second half, I doubt Barrera will have the required impact on a team of seasoned pro's like Man United.
I also hope Dyer can play at least for a half in this match; again we need the experienced performer to step up and make a mark.
We deserve some payback.

Re: West Ham -v- Man United - LC Quarters
Got my ticket and looking forward to this although not looking forward to being out in the cold until 10pm!
Will be interesting to see if he keeps faith with Stech and Tomkins / Ben Haim from the previous rounds.
I think we'll put out our strongest side and hope that Fergie puts out a few youngsters.
Should be a good game anyway.

I'd go:
Green: Faubert: Ilunga: Upson: Tomkins: Parker: Behrami: LBM: Dyer: Piq: Obinna
in this....
Subs: Stech: Spector: Gabbidon: Cole: Stanislas: Barrera: Hines
I expect us to lose - but that depends to a degree on their selection.

We're going to win. We always win the LC game when it's at home on my birthday. Last time was vs Liverpool, 4-1. Ok, it might be the only time, but f*** it, it's a 100% record. It won't get broken. I hope.

Re: West Ham -v- Man United - LC Quarters
Stuck with this one. I want us to go for the win with a strong team, but our injuries are racking up and i don't want to risk players.
......................Stech
Faubert...Tomkins...Reid...Ben-Haim
Stanislas....Parker...Kovac...Dyer/Barrera
...................Hines...Piq.....................
Subs: Boffin, Spence, Upson, Boa, Barrera/Olly Lee, Obinna, Nouble
Just don't want to imagine Ilunga up against the wingers Man Utd have. Ben-Haim played very well at left back against Stoke. Want to see more of Reid, so i'd give him a chance next to Tomkins. Stanislas needs to regain match fitness and merited his place today. Parker is a must with the captaincy. Kovac has performed well in the cups games, and theres not exactly much choice with Behrami injured again. Dyer could be fit for this, after failing a late fitness test today. If not then Barrera to take his place with young Olly Lee on the bench. Want to see Hines back playing, this is the perfect chance, partnering the fantastic Piquionne (who got MOTM from Sky today). A blend of youth and experience on the bench.

I'd actually like Parker to be given a rest - he was knackered today and we've got a big game away next week. But who would replace him - with Nobes out can we really rest him?
Hope Behrami is ok after his fall. Anyone know how serious the injury is?

I was going to suggest resting him aswell, but if we want a chance in this, i dont think we have a choice. If Noble or Hitz were fit, then he should be rested. But a midfield anchor of Boa Morte and Kovac just sends shivers down my spine. I'm all for resting players in the cup and giving other a chance, but Boa Morte and Kovac just can't be done.travisbickle wrote:I'd actually like Parker to be given a rest - he was knackered today and we've got a big game away next week. I know it isn't exactly the same quality opposition, but Faubert was fantastic against Stoke in the cup, one of the stand out players for me. Strong in defence and quality in attack. Also carrying on in extra time with an injury when we couldn't make any more subs.

No LBM.
Man U will probably play Rafael. I think Barerra would be suited against a full back like that tbh.
LBM just runs and fouls...

Probably the weakest side he can get away with. He's well known for having little regard for this contest.
