I really hope we don't leave ourselves with a job to do in the second leg. We must win Tuesday night. Two goal lead would be ideal.

Because we have been here before against a Brummie side, haven't we children? Hmmm? :D

I fear a 2 goal lead may not be enough

Avram Grant seems to have a thing for cup games. I think we will draw 1-1 at Upton Park, however i think we will win 0-2 at Birmingham. My only fear is Avram Grant keeps going to cup finals and yet he never wins them.....Which is a little concerning :?

Looks like we were Cole's boyhood club there...

Shame his career seems to have gone down hill over the last couple of years. I wonder if King Kenny will get him going again.

I know just sunk in yesterday that in couple of days we will be in a semi final.

Hopefully now the anticipation and excitement will kick in and it'll be bouncing over there Tuesday.

Are you Harry in disguise? Jac is cup-tied and hasn't played for over 6 weeks anyway!

We're going to have to rely on TBH it appears, unless Faubert can somehow persuade firstly Downes and then the rest of us that he can actually remember what a full back is supposed to be doing. I aint holding any breath. Birmingham are not heavy hitting in terms of goal scoring (save for yesterday), but they will lick their lips in anticipation about getting in amongst a back 4 that recently shipped 5.

I wouldn't start Noble, as much as he's one of my favourite players. Parker and Kovac in the middle for the battle. LBM instead of the ineffective Stanislas. On the assumption that we are not playing Behrami for a reason, I would retain Sears, but we're heaping expectation on him.

Cole and Piq as starters seems the best option, but, for me, is not ideal.

However, I'd say that nothing less than a victory at home is required, if we're going to make the final. So, Hines needs to be on the bench

p:m's 18:

Green, TBH, Tomk, Upson, Gabbs, Sears, Kovac, Scott, LBM, Cole, Piq
Boff, Faubert, Reid, Stan, Noble, Hines, Obinna.

2-1 or 1-0 West Ham.

No I agree. Actually we're any not very good full stop.

I think it is vital we keep a clean sheet with the away goals rule possibly kicking in.

2-0 would be fantastic but I can see it being 1-1 maybe 2-1.

TBH has gone back to Pompey, so it's Faubert or Reid unless a new LB appears tomorrow and Gabbs moves to RB :?

I'd go for Noble over Kovac in CM as this is a must win (and rest Noble versus Arsenal if needed). Though he threw his toys out of the pram yesterday, I'd go for Obinna at left wing ahead of LBM: tell him to run at the less than nimble Carr, get crosses into the box and redeem himself.

Are you sure about Ben Haim? Why has he gone back after two games in January?

Edit - just read the thread in his name.

Oh well. Looks like Faubert then, doesn't it?
