Tottenham 0 West Ham Utd 0 (19/03/11)
After a shambolic referee and an Ex-Hammer being a right C*** in our last,I thought i'd quickly prompt this Match thread so we can forget it and move on...
I personally think if we play as we have previously before today,There could be something there for us
2-3 Ba if fit getting a brace...

More confident going there after our recent improvement than I have been in recent years, but that does say for much. Back to reality football so bring Jacobsen in for Da Costa and put Tomkins back in. Upson needs to sort out his distribution or we will be mullered, if he starts presenting the ball to Modric and co it's curtains. Anyway, we can cause them problems up front with Ba and Hitz and Parker working hard in the middle. I'd bite your hands off for a cheeky point.

It wont be a physical battle like todays game v Stoke, at least we will be able to play football against a team that are not filled with thugs and oafs trying to snap you in two every 5 minutes. T*ttenham however do boast a lot more actual football talent than our northern friends today. Lennon & Bale v Jacobsen & Bridge does get me rocking in my chair though to be honest.
As for the team, I would put O'Neill on Bale all game, follow him, annoy him, frustrate him, man-mark him. Same with Obinna with Lennon. Take these two out of the game and we could have a chance of getting something from this. Would love a point.

Re: T*ttenham Vs West Ham Utd 19/03 12.45pm
I've been excited about this game for weeks.
It's a pity we're getting them just as Bale and VdV come back into the XI, because they're a totally different attacking team with the pair of them back. Having said that, both were present when we won earlier in the season.
There's no reason we can't come away with at least a point (and hope for more)

Is the ape man playing? I know he was injured but not sure if he is back or not yet.
If he is I do not want to see both him and lennon against our full backs. I think they will expose our lack of pace and that will be the problem
although the break may do us good. especially if parker ect are not called up

Stop Bale and Lennon and you have done half the job. They will come at us for the 1st 15 mins and IF we don't concede, then it will be balls down the wing all day, hoping to whip a cross into the freak. Control the midfield and I have a sneaky feeling we could be rather happy come 2:30

I'd put Tomkins back at centre half, lose Da Costa and put in Ba in place of Obinna.

I have norovirus, so missed going up to Stoke, we lost to the thugs, so apologies if done elsewhere, but ....
Why was Ba missing - I just assumed he was rested to protect his knees from Stoke's gentle ministrations. We did miss the extra bit of physical presence he brings today, so it surprised me.
Off to the loo now

Would have been different had Piq been able to play the full game, I reckonBromleyboy wrote:I have norovirus, so missed going up to Stoke, we lost to the thugs, so apologies if done elsewhere, but ....

Can't start Cole after the Stoke game.
Totally agree with an earlier poster - sit O'Neil on Bale and I would play Boa Morte on Lennon. Ba up top on his own.
Stop Bale and Lennon and we are in with a shout.

Green
Jacobsen Tomkins Upson Bridge
Parker Noble Hitzlsperger
O'Neil Ba Piq (if fit)
Same line up for Liverpool game, pretty much.

I think Cole is better off the bench, if you start Cole the opposition are prepared for him and have already sorted out how to handle him, if you bring him on 60/70 minutes he adds something new and causes the defence problems.
