Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
These international breaks mess up any momentum a team can get going. we always seem on a break still well into the next game after the break. Why they have these breaks for internationalsfor teams in the Championship God only knows.

What I don't get is BFS saw how badly we played FH against Hull and how we responded SH in that match. Shirley he must have realised thats the formation/side we should play....or is he worried about CC's knees

Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
Missed the goal - my stream froze the same time as our defence - probably my broadband's fault that we're losing
Absolutely hopeless going forward.
I always thought that having 5 in midfield was meant to get you to dominate the ball...... but we're trying to play a footballing equivalent of Ali's "rope-a-dope" like we did at Hull.
As others have said - Cole on for starters.
I'd be inclined to get Faubert up the pitch too, and put O'Brien on at RB.

Why does everyone think 4-4-2 will solve everything. Maybe if we weren't so hellbent on cramming the box and lumping balls in everytime we have the ball it would be more interesting.

Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
Faubert is a much better RW/ Rm than RB, playing horrible today
Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
We have not tested their crap defence seriously ONCE. Midfield needs a major rocket up their arse. We are letting a poor team dictate and outplay us ffs.

agreed - we need his pace and width further up the park - and baldock needs to play near the strikerHammer moose wrote:Faubert is a much better RW/ Rm than RB, playing horrible today

Cole came on and did brilliantly against Hull so I definately want to see come on.

With two strikers we will surely play more positive football, what we are producing with the current formation isnt working at all, i dont mind 4-5-1, but Baldock is a striker not a wingerwesthamerica wrote:Why does everyone think 4-4-2 will solve everything. Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
What an abject first 45 that was. Only Noble has looked like he cares and bothered to turn up. Carew isolated up top on his own, Baldock nowhere to be seen. Captain Nolan contributing nothing, just don't get how Allardyce could set them up to play like that in front of over 6,300 travelling supporters. I don't even know what formation that is 451, 41311, 433, 4111111 and it looks like the players don't either. Terrible, the second 45 better be a blinder.
COYI.

Still confident tbh. Was never going to be as easy as we thought but they are leaky we will test them second half and we will win.
N.B i have west ham in my accy so it's very likely this won't happen.

Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
The formation is 9 + Green behind the ball IMHO....tactics = ride their punches then catch them with a sucker one. As per Hull and Brighton.
Bound to be more aggressive intent now we've fallen behind.

Carlton on. Here's hoping for a performance like Hull.

Agreed, Southampton were 2-1 down to this lot the other week and still won. Things can only get better.fghammer wrote:Still confident tbh. Was never going to be as easy as we thought but they are leaky we will test them second half and we will win.

Sounds like Carew has been subbed.
Re: Coventry City v West Ham Utd: match thread
Why five in midfield when we just hoof the ball over them all? So we lose the ball, but then put no pressure at all at their ballholder. Shame, but we look like Sam's old Bolton when they lose a game.... But without their energy.
I miss Demel - the fighter. I miss Montano - the runner..... I miss Sam's tactics... which are??? (Fell a bit like Grant today....)
Com'on now!
