In the old days, you could do this, but now with merit payments the board will want us to finish as high as possible. Last year, the team finishing 9th received £5m more than the team in 15th, (that is the range I believe we are in)
Well that's an incentive for the team, get the extra £5m and Andy Carroll's proposed transfer looks on, I'm sure 95% of the team would want him here next season.

I am back off to Las Vegas on Tuesday. You might manage to catch the game in a casinos sportsbook.
I have seen West Ham games shown a few times in Vegas. The "British and Irish" pubs tend to show the top teams though.I do expect to see Man City v West Ham a week on Saturday in Vegas.Being a 4.45am kick off over there shouldn't clash with much else....maybe just stay up playing in the casino all night before the game.
Cheers for that. I forgot it was so early here; I'll either still be up or dead to the world.
Just one change in the starting line up for me, Noble in for Gary O'Neil. He's been great O'Neil and he has really given himself a whole new lease of life with this new holding role & will push Noble most weeks for a start. But he's played a lot of football and still needs to to be protected after such a big injury, I for one hope he stays & gets a new deal.
Joe Cole would only make the bench for me but Sam will know better then any of us if Joey is ready or not. Our players never seem to be rushed back and always seem fit and ready. I think it would be wrong to drop Vaz Te now after he seems fitter and scoring Wednesday night, momentum can go along way for a player.

That's (give or take) our best side & both teams played mid-week & it's been a massive week for Wigan. I know they are fighting for their life's down the bottom but there is no excuses in this one with two very difficult games around the corner.
We always seem very prepared & I'm sure we'll be the same for Wigan.

Only change id make is GON in for taylor on the bench
now when you read Henderson Pogs Collison GON J cole C Cole and maiga that reads to me a strong bench.. if tomkins was fit id have him not pogs there then we would have IMO some very good options on the bench
Not sure I'd want to change anything from the starting line up we had v Man U.
Judging from the highlights Wigan were excellent against Citeh so this will be a tough match. We might well be trying to set a new club record of consecutive draws, heavily influenced by my wearing the navy blue away shirt.

Why does every thread have to be hijacked? we are talking about this weekend's game!
The game where if we win we're assured of survival, where Andy Carroll is likely to start, where winning means we might be able to include some youngsters at the expense of a higher finish. I think it's a perfectly legit point to be made.

As long as we don't lose I'm okay with it. The trick is not to give them too much respect while at the same time not being cocky. Carroll will terrorize them and create opportunities and, as Sam says, we will win if we take them. Simple as.
The Man City game is a 4.45am kick off Vegas time,as its a 12.45 UK start.
If you are looking to watch the Wigan game tomorrow,if you can find it,we'll that will be a 7.00am kick off,
As that's a 3.00pm match over here in the UK.....although I would imagine you'll be to smashed to see the game at all.

Yes that I can agree with, though many would say we need to press on and get any extra bonus point we can! winning is more about the Team not one player though. COYI
