We need Suarez to pick up a red card tonight after putting six past Norwich.
Plus maybe one or two other pulls and injuries...?? Clutching!

It's gonna be messy, it's gonna be painfull. I'll be watching it with at least 3 scouse and a skunk who probably wants us to win...I feel so deflated right now; the Norwich and this palarse defeat are the worst...I know i know 'the West Ham way' but I don't feel it right now; realism dominating at the mo. Big defeat I'm afraid, 4-0.

All the signs point towards a resounding Liverpool win.
Which means, of course, that we'll probably win 2-0.

Just play the side that best plays to our strengths please Sam.....
Which means Diame in the middle alongside Noble
Back 4 with Demel at RB, Collins & Tonks plus whoever looks sharpest at LB
Downing on one flank. Another wide player on the other. And a striker
With Nolan in his usual position
I'd probably go with Jarvis out wide. Not his biggest fan, but I'd be inclined to start him ahead of J. Cole, for his allround game, and maybe look to introduce Cole later on
And I'd probably start with Maiga, and look to bring on the other Cole later
But just please play Diame in the middle alongside Noble....

Well we now face a trip to our graveyard which is Anfield.
I was there back in 1963 when we last won.
I was a young 17 year old teenager then and I am now a 67 year old pensioner.
and cannot believe in those 50 years that we have not recorded another win there.
It is a whole lifetime, in that period I have married, fathered three children and am now
retired after a full working life. Surely this must be the longest run in the history of football.
Let us look at the stats for this. fixture since 1963
Played Won Drawn Lost For Against
League 40 0 11 29 15 81
League Cup 2 0 0 2 1 3
We have failed to score on 30 occasions which is shocking !
Can we change history as there are not many of us who can say I WAS THERE.
Once again we have sold our allocation of tickets as all those who go are hoping for that
elusive win. Sorry lads but I think it will be the usual outcome..

Collins had a stormer last time round in a great 0-0 game. I'd take that result again all day.

What an excellent post. Saying "50 years" is easy, actually thinking about 50 years, as you have just prompted me to do, makes it incredible.johnny wrote:Well we now face a trip to our graveyard which is Anfield.

A lot of negativity here. Can't be that hard for West Ham to win at Anfield..

Seconded, what puts it in context for me is it is my 51st birthday on saturday so the last time we won there I was nine months old. But I will be there celebrating something no matter what, even if it is only remembering where my hotel is.Faded & Dead wrote: What an excellent post. Re: Liverpool vs West Ham: Match Thread
Everyone has won at Anfield, in the last 20 years, Southampton, Norwich, Blackpool, Villa, Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton, Ipswich......we can't though, it's annoying.
I'm expecting nothing else other than a defeat, if we go down fighting though I'll be a bit happier. I'm fed up of seeing us go to grounds, pull our trousers down, bend over and pass them the lube, only to see them throw the lube to one side, go in dry and leave us needing hospital treatment.
