After the heavy congestion and subsequent hangover from the Christmas range of fixtures - Would it be outrageous to field a lineup including Jussi, JOB, Demel, Nobes, Amalfitano, Jarvis, Zarate and Cole? Poyet, Vaz Te and Burke possibly in subs. Could give some players optimal prep time for the following Swansea fixture without fielding a lambs-for-the-slaughter crew (ala Forest last year)

I'm expecting Martinez to field a strong side for this one, when they played QPR in the same round last year, their team was-

Robles, Coleman, Alcaraz, Stones, Oviedo, Barry, Naismith, McCarthy, Jelavic,Barkley, Osman

But I think we if we play like we did against them last time and with a more complete squad, we can give it a real good go.

And?, I was merely stating their line up in the same round last year, to see how strong a team Martinez intended to play.

Yep, pretty much. Also good from a selfish point of view, as I'm working that weekend so wouldn't have been able to get up there anyway.

Odd that they've stretched the games out until Tuesday. It's poor for the travelling support but the team's 4 games in 9 days is now 4 in 12. Probably means the ACN players are now certainly not available though.

Looks like there's no TV games on the Saturday, which strikes me as a bit odd.

Because rather than playing our cup game two days after our league game, we now have a five day gap. Will allow us to rotate less and play stronger sides in the two games.

 Unbelievable.. I was looking forward to this one until they changed the date

I can see this being a poor turn out from our lot now... 6 days into the new year, on a Tuesday night and over 200 miles from London

It does simplify the Christmas/New year period which is now just about the two teams to face Arsenal and Chelsea.

That's 5 of the last 8 seasons where we've ended up on the telly in the 3rd round - Arsenal, man U, man C, Everton and Forest.

We've been knocked out live on telly on 6 of the last 7 seasons (Stoke, middlesbrough)
