Not that injured then.

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
Despite our position and still being in the cup, it does not mean us fans cannot criticise if we see a blatant mistake.
Nolan has been awful for too many games this season. He cannot last much more than 45 minutes, and he defends weakly and dangerously. Several goals have come from his direct errors. His effectiveness up front has diminished, although he knows how to finish he is not delivering at either end of the pitch.
Yet Sam remains blind (excuse that pun today) to Nolan's poor performances. Time for a new captain - it is not credible to lead a team when you are playing so poorly and contributing so little.
We are allowed an opinion. It is not disgraceful.
I will be cheering the team as loudly as ever - especially against this lot!
BUT I will not be impressed if Nolan starts.

Holding up a banner like that would disgrace us all. And I say that as someone who thinks Nolan shouldn't be getting any minutes for us at present.
As a tactic it's idiotic as well. If there's anything that's more likely to make a stubborn bugger like Sam dig his heels in it's something like that being on display.

You don't publicly humiliate someone like that. Even if your private opinion is in tune with the general sentiment.LifeCoach wrote:Despite our position and still being in the cup, it does not mean us fans cannot criticise if we see a blatant mistake.

Now even logic would say that even if carroll is having a late fitness test he is not completely fit so therefore should start on the bench with the Fully fit sakho and valencia starting,
But this is carroll.....
If not fully fit is picked over our more mobile valsakho that will not sit well with many, and rightly so

Sorry you may have misunderstood me. I am NOT advocating a banner. I am saying we allowed to criticise the "Nolan starting sanctity" here or elsewhere that does not embarrass ourselves or our club.LifeCoach wrote:Despite our position and still being in the cup, it does not mean us fans cannot criticise if we see a blatant mistake.

That same player came in when the morale was at an all time low, got the boys who were relegated off the floor, got all the new players gelled quick, scored important goals and led the team to promotion in our 1st season.LifeCoach wrote:We are allowed an opinion. It is not disgraceful.
The same player who captained us to a fairly comfortable 1st season up.
The same player who scored some crucial goals last season, the games in which he scored and we won got us 13 points, games where only he scored and got us points was about 8 or 9 so goals that basically kept us up.
Yes this season he hasn't been the same player, yes I agree he should only be coming on not starting, but to go and create a banner calling for him to be ****ed off, after all he's done for this club? Yes mate, that is disgraceful. Tevez has done less than Nolan for this club yet he's seen as royalty by some of our mob.

Jesus ****ing Christ do people think that Nolan has NO feelings if this is true the people involved should be thrown out ,,,he got us out of the championship, got goals the 1st year back up and has been a good person in getting big Andy here as well I agree his legs are slowing down now , and probably should be a sub but certainly don't need that banner **** if true ........hope its a great game and hopefully will get something from it COYI

This very situation magnifies a major issue on here. People that criticise Nolans involvement now get lumped in with morons that make banners.

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
What kind of supporter takes the time and money to make up a banner slagging one of our players? Like him or not, he pulls on the claret & blue and without going into what he has or hasn't done for us, deserves our support. I personally wouldn't start him anymore and uses up a sub already when he tires. I think he can still do a job when he comes on second half to fire up the tiring team and keep them togeather.
With our injuries or borderline injuries though, we shouldn't use one up just to accomodate Nolans inclusion.

If this muppet tries to raise his banner I hope the fans around him pull it down and tell him to take his "support" elsewhere. Bang out of order IMO.

Oh well, would be good having Carrol to come off the bench.
