Drop Song for his lack of effort and poor form last few months.Change of formation needed as well as Chelsea will dominate the midfield.Hit them on the break with that pacey front four.

Chelsea not looking particularly good today, but they've taken their few chances well.

Watching him stroll around the last few games without a care in the world.I can't remember the last time he put in a real shift working hard off the ball,by putting pressure on the opponents harassing them closing them down and putting his foot in.

Quite. That's what seems to have gone missing from his game recently.Hammer83 wrote:Watching him stroll around the last few games without a care in the world.I can't remember the last time he put in a real shift working hard off the ball,by putting pressure on the opponents harassing them closing them down and putting his foot in.

Bubbles I think it was you? that mentioned on the other thread perhaps he is not that motivated to play for a club that is battling for midtable? seeing as he has played for decent champions league clubs I think you may have a point.

They'll be tired from the cup final, if we play how we can we will win. It just depends what West Ham team turns up, if it's the team that lost to West Brom and Palace we're stuffed.

H83,
Maybe, but I do feel that people are projecting the problems he is currently having getting his forward passing going onto his whole game.
He tries to force play with cutting, twenty or thirty yard passes. It isn't working at the moment.
A lot of people seem to want to be reassured by safer (sideways and backwards) passing from his position. I would ask how many goals we've actually given up from his aggressive passing. It's ain't many.
And he made more tackles, interceptions and clearances than Kouyate and Noble combined yesterday, in spite of just walking around for about fifteen minutes at the end of the first half and leaving the pitch with half hour to go.

Didn't look too much hard work for Chelsea in the final, I wouldn't bet on any fatigue kicking in

Maureen will pick near enough the same team.
They didn't play in the week and they don't have a game next weekend.
Maybe Courtois and Oscar will get a run out.

I don't think Zouma will play as a DM. I reckon Oscar will play, Felipe Luis and maybe Cuadrado instead of Willian

Re: West Ham Utd v Chelsea: match thread
We played well and deserved to win against both Spurs and Man Utd but this is another level and they will have too much for us. Early goal conceded and a 0-3.
However I'd love to see Costa wound up, sent off then us to on nick with a John Terry own goal.
