This has draw written all over it.

1-1 with Sunderland equalizing in the dying minutes.

We need to get our mojo back. A game to play to our strengths rather than worry too much about how they can hurt us. I want to see as attacking a line-up as possible.

Finally, we get the second half of the season going with a solid home win, hopefully anyway.
Just for once can we not be the team that another team on a losing streak stop the rot against with a new manager at the helm.

Saturday is my Birthday, so really hoping the guys can do the business here. Definitely fancy a win here, and a refreshed team getting several more wins before the end of the season. Still think 7th or 8th is doable.

I was a lot more optimistic about this game before they changed their manager.

Two teams on a poor run of results, but they get a result at our place it will be a very good result for them and another poor one for us.

If they come here to frustrate then we may be in for another frustrating afternoon, however if they come to play football I'd be much more optimistic.

I'm hoping whoever plays for us on Saturday starts playing their best game from the first minute to the last.

The manager will get coated if we don't win, but it is time these players stood up and performed as they can against a lesser team again.

Our best should beat their best hands down.

A nailed on 0-1 defeat and Defoe will score with their only on target shot, while we huff and puff and get nowhere. Sam will then blame the Ref, Lino, bad luck or leaves on the line

We'll win this one. Song will have a decent game. The defence won't make any clangers. The forwards will take a couple of chances. 2-0.

Should still have too much for a poor Sunderland team. I am saying, hoping, 2-0 with Nolan getting one of them.

Actually, not very happy about Sam saying this is going to be a hard match , etc etc. Gives the impression we are fearful which can only give confidence to Sunderland. Hope he will be saying something different in the dressing room. Mind you, this could be some reverse psychology to stop complacency (but why do it in public unless he is trying to defuse the fan reaction in case we lose?). Has he lost confidence in himself?

Adrian

Jenkinson-Collins-Reid-Cresswell
Song-Kouyate
Amalfitano-Downing-Jarvis
Sakho

Jussi, O' Brien, Demel, Nolan, Noble, Nene, Cole

6-0 West Ham

Jenkinson, Downing, Sakho x2, Nolan, Jarvis

Defoe always has either a shocker or a world class performance against us, with little supply and isolation, he'll have the former

Adrian
Demel
Collins
AN Other (Not Kouyate, would rather a youngster or O'Brien if Reid is not fit)
Cresswell
Poyet
Song
Kouyate
Downing/ Nolan - not 100% sure here (Downing if we are going to play the diamond, Nolan if we flood the midfield)
Nene
Sakho

reckon we will draw 1-1
Poyet & Nene? And why on earth would you prefer Demel over Jenkinson?

One of the girls in my office is banging one of their chief scouts. She's been relaying messages to me all morning from him saying confidence at the Stadium of ***** is now very high and they are going to smash us on Saturday.

I fully expect a long drawn out 0-0 score line.

I think Downing would have to be outstanding in training all week and look like he has a rocket up his a*** after his performance last week.

I'll be highly delighted if he comes out and proves me wrong, because it's been a while since he put in a really good performance. I know he isn't alone,

I'm really going to miss seeing Jozy Altidore's name in the lineup.

Wonder if Jermaine Defoe has another special printed tee waiting in the wings.

Yes I do, in the old memory bank!

She's a mature lady but a very fine mature lady, you wouldn't regret the 'drunken taxi home after the pub with her' in the morning.

Johnson's suspension has been lifted. Available for Saturday. Can't believe they'll play him though, the crowd reaction will be immense.
