Arsenal 0-2 West Ham Utd (09/08/15)

Re: Arsenal v West Ham United: Match Thread
Just finished watching( my son woke up with 20 Min to go, so had to pause it ). That was superb! The match commentary was horrible, I'm not sure they even acknowledge we were playing until it was clear arsenal weren't going to win. It's early days but comparing that performance to when we were 2_0 up against spurs it's like chalk and cheese. We just kept playing today and looked more likely to score. No booting the ball blindly, we were composed and just simply out played them. All we need is some depth in the squad just one or two players how can come on and will make a impact

I'm still in shock, so, nothing else to say except - Slaven is a Hammer. ⚒

What a performance.
The quality of football we played was superb and light years away from anything served up under Allardyce.
Sometimes you have to be pretty lucky to beat the top team but not today, we were simply better.

Well done everyone who put their money on us... I thought before the game that was going to be akin to setting fire to it.
Fantastic performance today, as people are saying, whisper it, but "The West Ham Way" might just be making a return.
Oxford looks assured beyond his years, Payet is going to be the signing of the season BAR NONE in the PL and for all the others, what an effort today. We've even managed to sing a manager's name on the first game of the season, so:
STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT DUDLEY APE!

Feels like a very long time since we turned in a performance like that. Pleased with our professionalism. Did a lot of the little things necessary to see out a game.
Could be a very exciting winter.

Collymore just gave Reece Oxford a round of applause on talkSPORT.

Who would've thought you could be defensively solid, attempt to pass out of defence and commit men forward away to one of the big boys eh!

You have to say it was an incredibly brave decision by Slav to give a 16 year old his debut on the first game of the season...away to L'Arse. Balls of steel.

One of the major positives has to be Tomkins at RB, will Jenkinson be fighting for that spot now?

A crocked/unfit Alexis Sanchez? Walcott NOT scoring?Tommy B wrote:Ozil, carzola?

I am very pleased to say how wrong I was. I expected a heavy defeat, instead we were superb. Well done

A ten year contract with a 200M buy out clause but we'll probably sell him to Spurs for F**k allDDHammer wrote:Make no mistake..Oxford is a future captain possibly future England captain if we can resist the £20m upwards bids in the future. As much as I dislike Stan Collymore he had this to say:
"Reece Oxford berated, cajoled and talked to his team mates . He’s 16. So why can’t #Arsenal players?"
I understand not putting to much pressure on a player but he's just put in a MOTM performance against the title challengers at 16 years of age.
Signing him onto a long term contract would arguably be our best signing of the summer.

I don't think he'll push Jenkinson bit It's good to know we can use him as cover at RB.DDHammer wrote:One of the major positives has to be Tomkins at RB, will Jenkinson be fighting for that spot now?
Bet his head is still spinning.
