That was shocking one shot in the first half against a newly promoted team we don't seem to have any sort of game plan just hoof it forward and in midfield we are second best getting beat to the second ball every time feel sorry for randolf we that shower of s@@t in front of him and feel sorry for sakho to no ones up there supporting him the few times we have got the ball forward we seem so slow.

The team generally has been built to perform under BFS style, half of them can't play any other way. Rome wasn't built in a day!
Re: West Ham Utd v AFC Bournemouth: match thread
We don't have the players to be effective with wingers like Bournemouth and Leicester do. Wingbacks maybe, with one holding in front and the rest all joining attacks.

Well f* me, you got the first bit right, hope the second bit is too so that we can at least walk away with a little pride and hope for the coming games!Skandi Brudson wrote:West Ham United 2 - 3 AFC Bournemouth
Visitors race into an early two goal lead. The crowd turns on the home side. The away side add another on the break midway through the second half. Two late consolation goals from Reid and Payet.

Arsenal played into our hands by going down the middle and Wenger being too stubborn to change it. Two teams with width have now torn us a new one.Lee_WHU wrote:What I don't understand is that at Arsenal when they were attacking, which was a lot, the defense looked calm, collected and dealt with everything they threw at us in their stride. Every time Leicester and more so now Bournemouth attack it's all hands to panic stations and running around without heads. WTF happened?
There is a reason the diamond isn't played regularly by any decent team. We need to go back to 4-2-3-1.
Didn't think Ogbonna did a lot wrong tbh.

Let's hope Cresswell and Jenks get this wobbly form out of their system asap. I know they can both produce the goods as per first half of last season, haven't seen them this low in confidence though. Guaranteed Cresswell wanted to hide behind a billboard after the second goal mistake, he looked devastated.

Take a bow Sir. You are spot on, and I'd put Ogbonna on the left and play Tomkins in the centre (or have him at right back if Jenko can get his **** together and go for tugboat Jim).

At the game but very nearly left at half time. Without doubt the worst performance I have seen. Truly awful. Midfield non existent, can't pass, don't get forward and yet Bournemouth pass round us at will. Cresswell errors but jenkinson one of the worst performances by a professional footballer I have ever seen. And people wanted to pay 10m for him.
Bournemouth look a million miles ahead of us in basic football skills, and play some lovely football. We look like a crude non league team, no skill, no movement, no passing ability and no idea about positional play. Simply atrocious

Haven't even bothered going out for a salmon during the interval. Slumped in my chair shell-shocked. Please, at least try and be at the races this half West Ham.

Jarvis on for Nolan.
Hooray for shitty crosses and wasted possession.
I'd have preferred Lanzini.

Re: West Ham Utd v AFC Bournemouth: match thread
This is NOT just about new players. We have a better side on the pitch than Bournemouth. A side that has comfortably stayed in the Premiership the last three seasons. It's the tactics that have done us. Our defence looks all at sea because they look uncomfortable & are making errors. Jenks & Cresswell can't go from great defenders to sh*te over night? Our strongest point for the last three seasons was our defence...Plashet Grove Pete wrote:
The next 45 minutes - and the Porn Brothers response by the end of the window - will determine whether we survive in this division.
Ogbonna was sacrificed to go back to last season's back four. Bilic is hoping that will stop shipping the goals.
That is the worst half of football I have watched for years. Seen better with Grant & Roeder in charge. 1 shot the whole half. O on target.
FFS, it don't matter we lose but show some passion for the shirt. Spineless.

Can't even blame him for the system he's playing today. What were his options? Maiga up top? Jarvis on his flying form? Even if you play Jarvis we don't have another winger for the other side. The squad balance is atrocious and there are two men being kind to blame, but really one very small man.
Unfortunately players take time to adapt to new systems. I suspected we'd have a fairly poor first half of the season whilst this happened and we'd improve in the second half. He needs some width adding to the squad though. He has heavily utilised wide players at every other team he's managed. Song isn't going to be the answer to this.

Re: West Ham Utd v AFC Bournemouth: match thread
Cresswell has made those two mistakes because he is under instructions to try to play it out rather than safety first. When defenders aren't used to playing that way they will take a fraction of a second longer and at this level that can make all the difference.
