Compared to front lines of other PL teams, I very much doubt it!

Yet to see Carroll come anywhere close to scoring since his header against Chelsea , hopefully hes fit enough to play a role as an impact sub.

Fancy us to win this one,
West Ham 2 - 1 Soton

With half the first team sidelined through injuries, including all our strikers, such as they are, [sic} it is difficult see how we are going to beat any team at the moment, but Bilic is adopting a tighter style of play to compensate for this set back. Another draw beckons

I'm hoping the darkness that a 5.30pm ko will bring will generate a decent atmosphere. With all the injuries we need every decibel we can generate to some how come out of this with something. Would start the same as villa if possible except start song. Carroll potentially being back doesn't excite me much apart from a more experienced bench. Heart says we can do something here, head says 2-0 away win for the saints.

I thought Jenks looked very solid when he came on against Villa- did some basic stuff but also some slick stuff too and it wasnt easy for him as Villa were on a charge at the time. SO if we start with him @ RB im less concerned than i have been.

I hope Zarate has one of his " head on " games- he was all over the shop versus villa

If you take southampton's win against the arse ( i know I know) out of the equation they have been second from bottom of the table on form - so inconsistency is their game- I really fancy us to get a crisp 2 nil today

Noble penalty and valencia screamer please!

Whos' playing? Honestly I have no idea!

Got to be due a pen soon so 86/1 for Noble to score and us to win 1 - 0 seemed to good to be true .... Oh well another £2 I won't see again!

I played centre half and not got to a higher level than two divisions below the conference. Even 15 odd years later I would fancy myself to defend a front two of Carroll and Antonio easily

I would be stunned if Lanzini or Carroll featured.

If they were fit again surely they would have at least been on the bench 48 hours ago?

Is Carroll back for this one? I imagine he is.

This is a man absolute West Ham banker. Against a team who just thrashed Arsenal, and we can't buy a goal, let alone a win.

Has all the hall marks of a 2-0 West Ham win.

COYI!!!

Gold said he would be disappointed if Carroll wasn't ready - so I imagine he will be available.

Out of interest how many penalties have we had in the last year? I bet we've only had 2. And with all the goals we've scored its not like we're never in the box to be fouled or nobody has handballed against us. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a table in the last year of the amount of penalties rewarded we'd be in the bottom 3. Disgraceful really.

Back on topic. Sadly I can't see anything other than a Southampton win. On paper that's got to be one of the safest bets you could make out of all of today's fixtures. We played superbly against Man Utd and Stoke. But the last few games I thinks we've actually rode our luck a little bit and was lucky to escape with a point. Southampton have too much quality. We probably need to score twice to even get a point today. We struggle to even get one goal at the moment. Lanzini might be back today, but will probably have no more than 20 mins off the bench. We just need to hope the game isn't out of sight by then. I know we have probably had too many recently. But a draw would be a good result today considering.

Another thing to bare in mind. Can Collins play 2 games in a short space of time? Probably not which is a shame considering how well he is playing.

Prediction: sadly a 3-1 defeat.

I'd go for a bit of a diamond formation from last year:

------------------------------Adrian---------------------------------

---Jenkinson-----Tomkins---Ogbonna----------Hendrie---

------------------------------Obiang--------------------------------

-------------------Noble----------------Song----------------------

-------------------------------Zarate--------------------------------

-------------------Valencia-----------Antonio--------------------

Subs: Randolph, Collins, O'Brien, Kouyate, Cullen, Lanzini, Carroll.

One of our last games under the lights at the Boleyn....going to savor it, though I can see us getting only a point out of it.
1-1
A win would be a bonus for us given our key injuries, so they have to keep it tight, and as was said already, conversion rate will be telling....I don't think we'll make many chances.
Agggghhhhhh, what West Ham do to you!

I just cant see it mate. If he was back then surely he would have been on the bench at Villa. The best we can hope for is he's on the bench today and may get 15 minutes at the end.

If Tomkins is injured, I would go with Kouyate at centre back. He played there once or twice last season I think

Adrian
Jenks, Kouyate, Collins, Ogbonna
Song, Obiang, Noble
Antonio, Valencia
Carroll

Hopefully we'll see a goal!

According to the match reports on here this game was played yesterday and finished 1-1. Maybe this is a sign? I would definitely take 1-1 if you offered it to me now...
