It's going to be a blood and thunder game where one or two big players for either side are likely to get seriously hurt with what's at stake and how much it'll mean to both sets of Clubs - intentionally or not.

Slaven is going to have to get it absolutely spot on, on Wednesday. Pochettino is a very clever guy - a top drawer manager. One of his shrewd tactics is he makes attacking substitutions in the last 15 minutes away from home. He does this as whatever the score at 75 minutes in the onus is on the home team to attack - home fans urging them on etc and so spurs pick them off on the break. In 7 of their away games this season they have scored in the 82 minute or later. Having said that the atmosphere might just upset them - I sincerely hope so.

No doubt that this is a good Spurs team but they have got a touch of the Arsenals about them and could be fragile. Got to get about them In midfield and pressure their full backs. They are full of confidence so we need to hit them from the off. If we're at it we can get a result. Feel the crowd will play a big part in this one.

Hate to say it, but this Spurs side are the real deal
Joint top scorers, best defensive record by a country mile and they seem virtually unbeatable
Any cock ups and they will capitalise...we have to be on our game and everyone needs to turn up
A slow start and they will put us to the sword...if we have to chase the game, they f*** is on the break
We can win this game and this could just be one of those special nights under the lights

There will be a red in this game, I have no doubt. I'm just desperately trying to get it out of my head that it will be Nobes

think West Ham will turn up for this big time.
Adrian, Antonio, Creswell, Collins, Ogbonna, Song, Noble, Kouyate, Lanzini, Payet, Carroll.
2-1 west ham win but we may get turned over at everton after the lord mayor's show
I fancy a Carroll brace.

They've been beaten by Leicester, Man U and Newcastle.
They have yet to beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and Stoke.
They hardly ever drop points to bottom third teams - Sunderland, Norwich, Villa = 18 points (WHU 10)
It isn't that they are particularly good - I've seen many more skilful Spurs teams with vastly superior individual players - it's that they are consistent.
A large percentage of their goals conceded come in the last 15 minutes of games.

Last time we played them we were missing payet and had jenkinson at right back...we also had Sakho upfront.

Or Antonio in the side...
I stil regard Sakho as our best forward so don't see him as some kind of weak link in the side.

With Man C winning the league cup sixth place is now almost definitely a Europa League spot.
We really need to beat the filth to make sure than none of the chasing pack make ground.

Much as though I love Antonio, I am not sure about him playing at right back as that is not his normal position. Playing him at Blackburn is one thing, but against Spurs is another matter and I suspect they will target him big time if we put him there. Having said that our lack of alternatives might force it. Anyone know if O'Brien is likely to be back?
Re: West Ham Utd vs Tottenham: Match Thread (02/03/16 19:45)
He did, he can play right back.bubbles1966 wrote:We have only been beaten 4 times in the last 24 league matches, so barring a repeat of last year's collapse there should be a few points there. Shame about the RB situation.
I'm sure someone said that Doneil Henry played RB for Canada.

O'Brien and Tomkins both two weeks away from returning to training.
