West Ham Utd 1-0 Tottenham (02/03/16)
Huge game on Wednesday. We've turned up for most big games and I'm sure it won't be any different against Spurs. I'd go with the following line up.
.............Adrian..........
Antonio...Collins...Ogbonna...Cress
Lanzini.....Song....Kouyate....Noble...Payet..
..........................Emenike.................
Put our main creative players on the wing and make the midfield solid with introduction of Song who plays like a king in big matches. Always feel Lanzini gives his best performances starting from a wing position and while he cuts inside Antonio will have space to rummage forward. The same with Cress and Payet on the other side. Would keep Emenike up front to stretch their central defenders. He didn't have the greatest game against Sunderland, but who did and for this type of game his runs will be more useful then Carroll's. Sakho and Reid should make the bench for this one.. hopefully?

Agreed on the team except for Carroll. Wimmer hasn't looked the greatest in the air and I think Carroll will occupy him and Alderweireld more than Emineke. This mob haven't looked the same defensively since Vertonghen got injured.
Their 5th game in 14 days - will be our 3rd in the same period.

Always a massive game, even more so this season. A chance for us to consolidate our position whilst derailing their assault on the title. One of our weakest performances this season was away to this mob, a chance to balance that with a home win. I would take an ugly 1-0 win like yesterday, but I reckon there's goals in this game and hopefully we will edge it.

Fair to say they were at their best and us at our worst in the away game earlier this season.
Need to address that and put it right!

Got tickets for this one, hoping for an absolute classic ( and a chance to put a dent in their title 'challenge')

Probably my last home game, lets hope Swansea run them hard today.

It's going to be epic. Means so much to both teams...this really can be described however you like. It really could be described as a cup final...for both sides and fans.

We can end their title charge just as it gets started here.
Carroll up top, moses on the wing for some pace on the break, lanzini central.

Not feeling good about this one. We almost got found out yesterday but Sunderland were too poor to exploit it. Spurs won't make the same mistake. 1-3.

Introduce Carroll as a plan B. Let Emenike try and run in behind first. Introduce Lanzini later to help us move the ball if we are struggling.

Not sure about Antonio at RB have him on the wing and pump diagonals at him against Danny Rose, it will be carnage, mind you we don't have options.

Hoping that they'll pick up an injury or two, red card, etc against Swansea today.
They've played a lot of games recently so tired legs too.
Beating the filth would make a nice birthday present for me

Adrian
Reid - Collins - Ogbonna - Cresswell
Antonio -Noble - Obiang - Kouayte - Payet
Carroll
Reid is more than capable of playing at RB and as for the midfield I think we need to lock it up a bit for this which is why I've gone for three in the middle instead of two.

Julian needs to sit down & show the lads his performance in THAT 4-3 back in 97
Give half of that & we'll win this one. Really hope Sakho is back. A substitute performance from him would be a huge catalyst for us lot no matter what the score was
Probably my last ever home game too, barring the testimonial.

Bilic said in one of the interviews yesterday that Reid will probably not make Spurs but be ready for Everton

In that case Antonio is probably the only option for RB unless we go Reece Oxford?coyi27 wrote:Bilic said in one of the interviews yesterday that Reid will probably not make Spurs but be ready for Everton

Re: West Ham Utd vs Tottenham: Match Thread (02/03/16 19:45)
was thinking last night about the state of the pitch. after spurs there's a few weeks without a home match to get it back in decent nick which makes me wonder if it has deteriorated by request.
spurs play a high press and should be vulnerable in the air. especially with vertonghen out. you beat that press by drawing them in and playing it down the channels, and muscling past their fullbacks. you don't need to play on a carpet to do that.
if we do beat them, the turf will be this season's lasagna.
