Swansea City 4-1 West Ham Utd (03/03/18)

Re: Swansea City v West Ham Utd: match thread
I feel for Moyes, a lot of the players and us fans. It is criminal that we have 2 33 + year old full backs playing, only one fit centre half who is a teenager and still no defensive midfielder.... and this year, when we are in a relegation battle, we are running a transfer surplus having sold our second highest or joint highest sIgning to a relegation rival...In the coming days the accounts will come out showing Record turnover and record profits, but our owners say they are only in it because they are fans. They have gone beyond underinvestment and have moved into asset stripping. We have an extremely ageing back line.. and the worst central midfield in any of the major first divisions in Europe.

Would have dropped Evra for Antonio. That is what I meant.
Mario is an attacking midfielder. Like Noble and Kouyate he'll only perform in a three.
In your formation we'd have Mark "one gear" Noble covering half the pitch. That has been shown to not work.
Moyes has to play three at the back, has to play three in midfield (which currently has to include Kouyate) so his only choices are the two up top and which two not quite suited to the role play wing back.
Oh And he can flip a coin to see which "adequate" keeper gets to pick the ball out the net at least three times.
Only I'd have played Rice in the middle as the defensive midfielder protecting the defence. Everytime he's asked to do that job he's looked good at it and I actually think he's a better defensive midfielder than a centre half.
Adrian
Zabaleta Kouyate Cresswell
Byram noble Rice Mario Antonio
Arnautovic Hernandez
I don't think Lanzini is up to speed since his injury and is being rushed back since starting against Liverpool.

Moyes already made the excuse for our total lack of cohesion they couldnt train outside as they wer too tight to install undersoil heating at rush green tight bs deserve all they getCrouchend_Hammer wrote:Of course the owners are to blame at a macro level but why is Moyes blameless for this abject performance. What have we been doing on the training ground all week? No one has a clue what they are supposed to be doing and we can't even defend corners properly

I don't even want to comment on the game/performance. Swansea were well up for it and we were a shambles. No one expects to lose three centre halves in a day... but still... it was utter s**t from us.
Strap in, bumpy ride from here until the end of May.

That really was ****ing depressing. I won't credit Swansea as, although they played like they were up for it, it was us that gifted them the win.
I haven't seen us lose the ball so much since Bilic was here. Dire passing, dire control, Kouyate and Lanzini in particular.
For me, Noble was the only one that deserves to be cut a bit of slack. He tried to take control in the second half and played some nice balls.
Also, Antonio looked knackered by 90 minutes, after coming on at half time.

That back five is even worse than we fielded today imo. We'd have fun defending set pieces too... oh hold on we don't bother anyway so on second thoughts f*** it. At least there is some pace in the team!Colours never run wrote: Only I'd have played Rice in the middle as the defensive midfielder protecting the defence. Let’s not forget the manager was incredibly cheap and desperate to get back into football.Peaches wrote:I feel for Moyes, a lot of the players and us fans. Everything is cheap and desperate at this club at the moment apart from the fans , by God other teams would have half empty stadiums having to watch some of the dross we have had to witness in recent tines.

Too ****ing right. It was a relegation 6 pointer and they thought they could turn up, stroll about and get something from the game.HammerMan2004 wrote:" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
