Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
About summed up the ref's performance...
Arnie gets nothing...the hold by Smalling should have been a penalty...no question...gets loads called against him..
Very isolated for much of the game...is it his fault for not playing closer to the midfield too though ?
At least we saw a positive sub, but really did nothing to bring Carroll into the game......
Matsuaku was bloody awful..Noble played well, Zaba worked his socks off. Did we tighten up in the second half defensively or did they not put as much effort into it ??
Sanchez their best player by a mile....Poga - 90M my arse.....
Jones won't be in the final...Smalling is okay, not a Manchester quality player if they plan on making a title challenge and further into the CL.. thought Shaw was good....but the rest, nah ...very meh...

Have we scraped 40 points yet?
Are we at the next level yet?
Are we nearly there yet?
Did that game, 'break the cycle of negativity?'

shocking game. Arnie very good first half. Rice MOTM didn't put a foot wrong and actually thought Kouyate done alright today. Good acheivement staying up apparently, we haven't even reached 40 points yet.

Pinky..
couldn't see Spurs catching them whichever..they had 77pts before tonight...Spurs can only get 77 pts..
Spurs home to Leicester and Manchester U. home to Watford..
doesn't depend on the last day now, but even so, I don't think they needed to play for the point tonight..
guarantee 2nd whatever happens pretty much without kicking a ball realistically.
Job done on Sunday at home...

Because we have a difference of opinion I must be trolling?brothernero wrote:Jackhammer. Keep trying, you make me laugh at least,
I just don’t see how any of us can complain about a draw against Man Utd, especially when they played for a draw...

No Jack you just make it far to obvious and your constant snide digs at our support has gotten awfully tiresome.
Thank god for the ignore option.

I make no digs at our support in general, there are certain posters here who are stubborn, I just like to defend our players and staff.brothernero wrote:No Jack you just make it far to obvious and your constant snide digs at our support has gotten awfully tiresome.

Not our owners though, they’re the worse.

Seeing as there’s no particular highlights, any links to Nobes eyeing up the mascots mum ?

A Thursday night thriller.
I would hate to be a Man Utd fan. I know we’re boring but Jesus Christ.

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I've only just noticed that despite conceding (along with Stoke) the most goals, you've got to go up to 9th place (leics) for anyone who has scored more than us. Half-full and all that.

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
Adrian by far our Man of the Match for keeping us in it and nicking an unlikely clean sheet. Made some quality saves, especially that one with his leg to push Shaws thunder bolt onto the post. Fantastic reaction save after a good one he already just made. And doesn't that just sun up how we play under Moyes, always obsessing about nicking a draw rather than just going more for it.
Arnautovic isolated yet again until he eventually brought Carroll on, then completely overlooks the lad Hugill in an utterly meaningless kickabout effectively in front of your own home fans.

Re: West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread
It was a dull game but that was down to them as much as us. I know people love to find reasons to blame moyes, but mourinho is expert at anti football. This wouldn't be the first game he's destroyed with his tactics. It was clear that not conceding was more important to them than scoring. Moyes did the right thing by reverting to 4-4-2 but it was difficult to get any kind of flow going with the tactics they were up against. Also, there seemed to be a few unfortunate moments of a lack of understanding when we did get forward. Runs not quite being read properly etc. It happens. Thought we defended well and also though noble had a good game, as did Adrian. At the end of the day, as Jackhammer says, 0-0 against the team 2nd in the league cannot be seen as a bad result. It was a professional performance from them, also one from us. Just not one that made good viewing unfortunately.
