Hammer 1975 like your line up and the comedy bit Noble needs a rest. He's done f all for 2 games if didums is tired after 2 game best he don't play anymore.

Re: Arsenal v West Ham Utd: match thread (25/8)
Arsenal missed 3 absolute sitters vs Chelsea and could have won easily plus Bournemouth had 2 great chances and if not for fabianski could have ended 4-1 so worryingly for us the weekends scorelines didn't tell the true story . I like peaches line-up but I'd be inclined to throw obiang next to Sanchez and see if we can get to HT 0-0 then throw caution to the wind in the 2nd half.
I admire that Pellegrini believes in a certain system and will want to play a certain way regardless of opposition but he will at some point have to be pragmatic and start to think about points.

If he still refuses to go 3 at the back would agree with this, except I would swap Anderson and Yarmolenko around and play Anderson more central behind Arnautovic.Peaches wrote:I’d go for

Pow! That's gonna be our line up for games when we need to be more cautious. If Anderson and Yarmie can properly get their head around their roles and responsibilities, that's a very strong team.somerset-hammer wrote:
Once he's proven himself, I'd maybe plop Diop in there. For now, that's 100% what I'd go for.
1-2 Irons.
WENGER OUT!

Aubameyang is going to have a field day with our defensive high line. Nailed on hatty.
Our season starts at home Vs Wolves

We are in for a long hard season, if Pellegrini refuses to accept that he does not have the players to play four at the back, imo! Coupled to that ,we are going to see Diop,Balbueno,Rice and Fredericks PL careers ruined before they have settled in."Route one" football looked the only way we were going to get anything out of the Bournmouth game, imo.
The warning signs were there in pretty much every friendly the "first team" played, with Championship teams walking straight through our CM.
a "back four" consisting of any of our CBs + WBs/Zab with Noble and Wilshere protecting them will get ripped to shreds, imo. Another ,potential, problem is that we don't know if Fabianski is communicating with his defenders or if there is any real leadership in the back line!

When we played three at the back there was moans that it’s too defensive and boring, now there’s moans that we need to play 3 at the back for the defensive solidity.
3 at the back didn’t exactly help last time at the Emirates...

I'm feeling quite optimistic about this match (relatively speaking), but do think Arsenal will snatch it.
4 - 1 to Arsenal I reckon.

Arsenal 3 - 1 West Ham United
I think we’ll see some improvement but it won’t be nearly enough to stop the Gooners getting their season going.
Somerset’s line up is the way to go if Pellegrini is going to make changes.
Hard to drum up the enthusiasm already.

I wonder how long it will be before Xhaka tries to break Wilshere?
Re: Arsenal v West Ham Utd: match thread (25/8)
3 defeats on the bounce almost a formality here. Worst defence in the league last year and we've still only spent something significant on 1 player for the whole back 6 positions.

Quite good for a few reasons, Diop comes in as part of a 3 so less pressurebubbles1966 wrote:

Fredericks and masuaku are both better going forwards
If we try the current system again away at Arsenal it’ll probably be another 4-0.
