Let's hope that's more bull**** press invented stories because I for one would be gutted to see Carroll go - life would become quite boring at West Ham.

So much depends on how much energy either team puts in. Have a feeling that Hughton will have Brighton very up for this, at the same time quite worried about how many of ours are 100% (let alone injured).
Not massively confident if i’m honest. We need to compete irrespective of result

This one will rankle if we lose, and 'we tried to play the right way' won't cut it.....too many losses to this lot.

Aren't we trying to beat them at their own game then? I don't see going toe to toe working...bubbles1966 wrote:We have to be up and at 'em from the start because that is what they will do to us with the aim of getting in front and playing on the counter. we've lost 3 out of 3 trying to play our way through from the start.
I'd go....
--------------------Fab
Zabaleta----Diop-----Ogbonna----Cresswell
-----Snodgrass------Rice------Obiang
-----------Antonio----------Arnie
-----------------------Carroll
Bring the ball players on later.....
Subs: Adrian: Arfur; Noble: Nasri: Anderson: Perez; Diangana
Same set up for me but Anderson for Carroll and Arnie up top. The general in too if he is back.
Antonio will add something different in the attacking third...

My first game was BHA away in 1978 at the Goldstone (in Hove in case you didn't know..) 32k in attendance! We were on the side with the Brighton (and Hove) fans. I was 10, fainted and was carried out by the Albion fans and passed onto the St John's. Never saw the rest of the match which we won 2-1. Pop 2.
11 Englishmen in our team.
Nowadays I walk the South Downs and see their new ground from Ditchling Beacon... how times change . Me in Row 139 of a multi sports facility..and them in a ground sponsored by a credit card....

Premier League:
- One-match ban if five yellow cards received before 19 Premier League fixtures (Dec. 26 round)
- Further two-match ban if 10 yellow cards received before 32 fixtures (weekend of March 30)
- Further three-match ban if 15 yellows received (no fixture limit)

Jon I was at that game and stuck on terrace to side of main stand with Brighton fans too. Annoying as looked like we had half the ground. I was 8 and couldn't see a bleeding thing.

I can't work out Cuenca's formulae, in fact I'm more confused than ever and bet I'm not the only one, so, is Noble banned for this one, or not ?

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Brighton & H/A: Match Thread (02/01)
just cut and pasted lads. after 19 games in the PL it changes
the next hurdle is 10 games when you get a 2 game.
he's on what 5 now ? so 5 more to go then a 2 match ban
if you get 15 it doesn't mater how many games played you get a 3 match ban
(at least that's how I interpreted it.....)

Cuenca is correcct.
Due to yellow cards in fa cup matches not counting to the total. this seasons cut off point for 5 cards is now after 19 games instead of 20 games / 31st december.
So Mark Noble is free to play ( until he gets his 10th yellow before the 32nd game)

I would go with the 4-3-3 above if arnie is actually fit.
If he’s not I’d put Antonio up through the middle and play nasri on the right. What on earth was the point of having him train with us for months if he’s not match ready straight away?
Plus regarding his eligibility we will have signed him a while ago as he was a free agent so the only limitation would be the cessation of his ban. We haven’t signed him in the jan window.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Brighton & H/A: Match Thread (02/01)
you're probably right mate, the only thing I would have wondered is about filing paperwork and the so called "international clearance" thing that all players have to go through....we can't sign anyone now as I understand it outside of the window...
rules changed this year - I know I had to be reminded of it !!!!!!

Absolute madness isn't it that this is even a possibility. I don't know how they have managed to be pretty much safe already, I really do think Brighton are s**t, but they seem to find a way to grind out results, seemingly always against us.brothernero wrote:Surely we cant lose 4 straight games to be blinking Brighton & Hove Albion.

I’d go with Stu’s team too if they’re all fit to start.
