Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Birmingham City: match thread
I'm assuming all tickets sold will be at this match due to it being a cup game?
If so and its 50000 plus would this be our real record attendance or did we have bigger numbers when played Chelsea and spurs in league Cup?

I know a few season ticket holders who purchased their tickets a while ago, but are undecided as to whether to go or not
Couple of seasons ago i purchased tickets for the Accrington game but didn't go because i wanted to get the points on the very small off chance we got to the final!

As I always say Chick........it's a double edged sword for us older types who witnessed these FA Cup wins.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: Hear hear.

On the one hand we feel privileged to have been there and witnessed our club winning trophies. And the trophy that seemed more important than winning the league in them days. The FA cup was THAT big back then.
On the downside we are almost certainly closer to death than the youngsters who haven't witnessed such triumphs.
I think I would like to swap with them now.....

Might be worth using Rice as a CB to give Diop a rest for the night.
He's played nearly as much but looks less leggy than Diop does at the moment. Wouldn't be the worst thing for him to keep his hand in as a centre half as well in case we need him there later in the season – despite how well he's been playing, it's not as if he actually has much experience of playing there in senior football.

Even though we're on 28 points in the league, thanks to our December, I reckon we're going to be safe this season, so would like us to give this a real go.Chicken Run Supreme wrote:Been too ****ing long now. If we progress to the 4th & later rounds we've also got the realistic prospect of some long-term injured, returning. Albeit perhaps not our best players but still, more bodies.
What you really need in this cup is also, a lot of luck.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Birmingham City: match thread
For me this has become a massive game. All the good that Pellers & the team have done in December could be undone if we lose tomorrow - for me anyways.
Desperate to see us have a go in the cup this year. We will easily get enough points to stay up, not bothered about 7th, finish 8th to 10th and I think it has been a very decent 1st season for us.
Within reason regarding Fatigue, go strongest eleven, get the game done by 60 minutes and substitute away.

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Birmingham City: match thread
Any team with Gary Monk in charge of won't be easy to beat. Unfortunately we have a bunch of players who are playing week in week out at the moment and I can see this being one of the upsets.
Of course I'm hoping I'm wrong. I think Anderson will get a rest and be on bench but Arnoutovic start as he has had less game time lately. Perez or Carroll to start too and Silva to maybe get some game time.
Diangana should start and maybe another one or two younger players on bench. Interesting to see if Rice is on bench instead of starting. I'm going for Adrian Ogbonna Diop Masuaku Antonio Noble Obiang Snodgrass Diangana Carroll Arnoutovic with Nasri Silva Perez Rice Anderson and Fab on bench with one youngster on there too.

Forgot Cresswell on bench or starting instead of Masuaku. Maybe not anymore youngsters after all....

no RB ?
to hell with it... CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE !!!!!!
maybe AC can fill in, he can hardly get over the halfway line when we're attacking anyway...

I hope we'll give the likes of Noble, Antonio, Carroll, Diangana, Cresswell, Adrian, Obiang starts, and bring in a kid or two if we're not losing after the hourmark
