The reason for Arsenal to only flatter and eventually deceive, this season, is their ridiculous defence, and that's after what must surely be an upgrade between the sticks, with Leno.

Just look at their goals against column...

1 goal better off than us, and
Conceded practically twice as many as all teams above them; three times more than LFC.

Our problem, in trying to beat them, is that their main assets are in the striking positions; AFC are joint 2nd highest scorers so far.

So, 0-0, then.

Throughout the Wenger years, I know they were much better than us and one to eleven they had far better players, their movement on and off the ball was far superior to us, but for virtually all of those games we played with zero confidence and no self belief. We just never thought we could win and expected a thrashing and as a consequence, that's what we got. Yes, I know we have had one or two wins against them at the Emirates, Mauro Zarate and Robert Green etal, but on the whole we've received some right bashings from them down the years, but now I think things are about to change. It's about mindset as much as anything else

posted before, their ability this year to score goals has papered over the cracks that are their useless attempts at defending.

at least when I have seen them which isn't loads of times admittedly, but when I have their CB's are all over the place, their FB's seem to push on at the wrong times and when they should have conceded their opposition hasn't always seemed to have taken advantage of it.

and their goalkeeper isn't all that either.

this "new way of playing" that "isn't Wenger any more" doesn't seem to be much different in all honesty.

There are two things about this match of which you can be absolutely certain.

1) Whoever is the referee, he will be a complete mong, give us nothing and award them everything, probably including a penalty

2) We shall not be awarded a penalty

Was that when we won 3-2 ? I'm fairly sure Alan Taylor bagged a couple along with the usual shennanigans in the North Bank....

I think it was a year earlier we got stuffed 6-1 over there...

I'm planning to watch this in the Black Lion in Plaistow.
Can anyone confirm it's definitely still open and showing the football?
I haven't been there since we left the Boleyn.

Will be an interesting one this, as both teams are 2nd half teams. I can see another Brighton like 0-0 in the first half. I reckon whoever scores 1st in the 2nd half will lose the game 2-1!

or was it the 20th?

Day, Bonds, Lampard, Otulakowski, Green, Lock, Taylor, Radford, Devonshire, Brooking, Jennings.

3-2 (Taylor 2, Jennings - Brady, Stapleton)

Just this match!? That's every match isn't it? I wouldn't be surprised since we've been back in the Premeir League that we have received the least amount every season.

Even this season haven't we only had 1? Now with the amount of attacking we have done in almost every game this season, are these refs honestly telling us there has only been 1 incident in the box against us all season!? Ridiculous.

*Dons tin hat* for me IF we play to his strength when he is on the pitch, this is the perfect game potentially for Carroll. He could eat their centre halves for breakfast!

It stinks like f*** we rarely get awarded penalties, when they're so readily handed out to so many other teams and often against us!

Coincidence my arse.

if Carroll plays this is the only time EVER you will see the opposition awarded a penalty for a foul that he commits inside THEIR box..

trust me

Various reports saying Arsenal's injury list has all but cleared in time for Saturday's game. Typical if true.
