Douse that kit in petrol, burn it, then blow up the ashes with a grenade and finish it off with hydrochloric acid....then do it all again just to make sure.

I understand the reaction to blame Arnautovic for this result and can’t rule out the effect it may have had. But i personally think even had there been no transfer situation with him we would have lost today. It’s just one of those games for us when we go there. I never ever feel confident.
Having said all that, Carroll is a sub-standard striker option for our set up or any at the top level tbf.
As a club it’s no point sulking over MA pissing off. Sign a new mobile striker now and move on fast, otherwise the club risks undermining all the progress made in the last 3 months.

Just got a text from a mate at the game.
"Put a tenner on before the game for a 2-0 loss and Wilson and King to get their goals, won a very nice tidy sum, yet I am so f*****g fed up right now"
I have yet to ever bet on any West Ham games, my god it's a tempting thing to do mind.

My thoughts for a striker are; Are you holding the ball up? Are you bringing the rest of the team into play? Are you scoring goals? Are you running in behind? Are you chasing down defenders? Are you winning headers?
Really don't feel Carroll hit any of those today, would have him off the bench for 20 mins next game.

The better team won. I thought we were marginally better once the double sub had been made but then Anderson disappeared. Clearly it would have been better if Chich had started and then AC had come on for him for the last 30 mins once he started to tire.
Pains me to say it but I do think AC is done now. He’s had his 6 games or whatever to get up to speed but the only thing he offers just seems guaranteed to gather yellow cards and not much else. As someone else said, opponents know that all they need to do when he jumps is to go down clutching their face and that’s it. 20 mins impact sub at best, and that’s pushing it.

We picked up plenty of points in December without him.New Jersey wrote:

This ain't down to Arnie, it's down to 10 men out there today playing ****.

The build up play for the most part was decent and what I've come to expect of a Pellegrini team. We just failed to capitalise on all that good possession once we got to the final third and fluffed our lines in and around their box. It's not going to come me off all the time in our early stages under Pellegrini but the signs are still their we are progressing well in general. For an away team over 60% possession is going some, just got to brush up around their box.

I thought we looked our best when we had Dianganna and Chicha on.
Of course, they were also sitting deep letting us have possession so it can be misleading, but we created quite a few chances that were just a step off.
I'm hopeful that Chicha can start next week, so he and Nasri can be on at the same time. Our attack looks better with Chicha in, and the midfield looks better with Nasri. Would love to get our first look at combining the two as soon as possible.

Aside from Fab, don't think anybody came out with any credit from that.
Agree, Zabaleta can hold his head up high. Looked like the only one with any passion out there.

To me, from the outside, he doesn't even seem to want to leave & is only doing so to pay off his supposed HUGE gambling debts.GaryP wrote:Carroll was the only fit forward.
**** Arnie, but it's OK he apologised to his team mates. Put in your transfer request and **** off.
Having said that, he REALLY f**ked us right up, by not playing today..

Anderson was well below par today I am afraid....
no direct running not much in the way of interplay......
not the only one by any stretch but these are the games we need him to turn up...

Yup Clyne had Anderson in his pocket. We should try and get him in the summer.bubbles1966 wrote:

A number of players who have had a bit of a renaissance this season or in the last six weeks had bad games today.
Tin hat assessment of the day: as much as I like the bloke, Zabaleta can’t cross for ****. Has he EVER beaten the first defender?

Slow, Laboured and lacking quality in the final third. Poor day at the office.
Proper West Ham.... two steps forward and three back.

Arnautovic won't hand in a transfer request because he loves the wedge so much. If he and his brother had principles over this, they wouldn't hesitate to hand one in. But we all know the answer to that...
Hurry up and get rid.

Zabaleta, Rice, Noble, Diop all played well, struggling beyond that who did.
