Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 West Ham Utd (29/01/19)
Tuesday night, fill your boots.
It will be interesting to see peoples preferred starting line ups for this with Marko on the naughty step of many supporters, Hernandez an embarrassment against Wimbledon last night and Carroll, being, well, Carroll.
Fabianski, Rice, Zabaleta , Cresswell, Anderson and Diop are certain starters Beyond that ?
Who will Pelle publicly call out from Saturday nights shameful performance and leave them out of his matchday squad ?

My neighbour is a wolves fan and he is the biggest dickhead I've met for a long time. I used to love them, Steve Bull was a hero when I grew up. However, after meeting this tool I despise them. Please let's turn them over!

Time to match up and try a back 3?
We look likely to concede at least two goals in every game. We've conceded at least 2 nine times in the last 16.
An extra defensive body needs to be incorporated somehow.
That's either a 3rd CB, or Zabaleta/Obiang sitting next to Rice.

One forward up top and an extra midfielder. Two up top, we lose.

Not sure it's meaningless. Lose this and then lose to the red Scousers and we're sliding back down into trouble.

Given that he has no option but to persist with Ogbonna and Diop, what can he do to shore things up?
Except for the ultra-soft Arsenal, it seems like a long time since we actually 'competed' in a game and controlled it .

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs West Ham United: Match Thread
wolves seem surgically built as a team to give us one over the pinball table.
newly promoted team with loads of energy in midfield and enough quality to make the best of chances when they come. bournemouth with a sugar daddy.
if things go badly i forsee a bit of a tailspin with arnautovic getting the worst of it.

Won't be the first time. We will finish 13th or 14th, no higher. A run of defeats and we could even be lower.BondsoBob wrote:Not sure it's meaningless. Lose this and then lose to the red Scousers and we're sliding back down into trouble.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs West Ham United: Match Thread
Team:
Fabianski
Zab Diop Ogbonna Cress
Rice Noble
Antonio Nasri Anderson
Arnie
7 players in who didn't start last night plus Antonio in his right position, surely he must score soon and unlucky not to get two last night!
Noble plays better with Rice in there intstead of Obiang (f*** him off)
Diop and Ogbonna play better with a better and calmer keeper behind them and fullbacks who are calm and defend well not like that dick Masuaku and Antonio playing there!
Arnie hopefully has a point to prove to the club and Nasri is getting match fitter by the game, those attacking 4 of Arnie, Anderson, Nasri and Antonio are the best in the league outside the top 6 and Wolves beware.
This is our 4th chance this Season to go 7th, we will win and won't blow it this time.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs West Ham United: Match Thread
We are wildly inconsistent.
I reckon we will win.
I would play rice , and obiang and snodgrass in central midfield
And then Anderson, nasri and arnoutovic (as much as I would rather not)

Zab in MF is a good call Bubbles especially if young Ryan is fit enough for 90 mins. Or play him on the right of. 3 at CH mopping up if Fredericks tires. Or alternatively play him right side of a 2bubbles1966 wrote:Time to match up and try a back 3?

2-0 Loss followed by a 3-1 loss to Liverpool. We go again.
Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs West Ham United: Match Thread
Same team that beat, and played well, against arsenal. No choice but to play Arni, as other options continue to prove themselves ineffective.
I would leave Pedro and Arthur out of the squad, not just after last nights stroll, but because they are both not up to premier league standard imho. Especially now Fredericks is back, and Snods or Zab could be cover in midfield of needed. If they press us and outnumber us in midfield, as Burnley, Wimbledon, Huddersfield, Brighton have done it could be a long night.
