if the players and manager have learned anything after the Wimbledon game then we will go there and win comfortably. I'll stick my neck out and go 1-3 away win

Lanzini has to play for me. If he plays like he did against Newcastle, Cardiff won't be able to touch him. He can get his rest when we are a couple of goals up (not that he looks like he needs it). I'd like Arnie back in for this one too. Hernandez has been decent but Arnie just offers us so much more and is more capable of dealing with the physical side of Cardiff.

He played the first half at Man City but not sure if that counts as we never had the ball.Cuenca 'ammer wrote:trouble is Nasri has had NO pitch time in about a month....
we need to be on the front foot and firing..
Antonio in for this one, we need a physical presence especially if Chicharito is gonna start up top....
Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
Our record away from home against Colin's teams isn't the best. He will have them fired up and we will need to match that.

They are physical and full of running -Kev59 wrote:I don't see this as a game for Lanzini or Hernandez to start. Put Snoddy in midfield and Arnie up front. Match their physicality for 60 minutes and we'll win.
We had enough about us to almost beat them by three clear goals , had it not been for a very late goal we'd have achieved just that .
Watford trounced them 1-5 , Everton beat them 0-3 , Wolves beat them 2-0 at the weekend - before that they'd beaten Southampton and Bournemouth - I wouldn't write them off but there again if the ' 5 star ' Anderson turns up I'd back us to beat anyone .

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
sorry lads you're correct.
he was on the pitch but that's all that can be said about that performance....
I was really impressed when he had his couple of cameos but since then he has pulled a sickie and then been anonymous for the city game.
admittedly we were not seeing much of the ball, but hell's bells the other lads were at least noticeable even if we didn't trouble them much....
so although I was incorrect, as he was virtually invisible I still stand by my statement that he hasn't been playing for more than a month !!!!!!!

If we take the pitch with the right attitude and work ethic this is a comfortably win.
A few of our players have confused big club mentality with big billy b*llocks mentality in the past.

Yes we’ll need to put out a physical team for this one and probably wise to start with Lanzini on the bench or he’ll get hacked to bggry. Play Nasri, he needs the game time and also Chico, I think they could work well together. Arnie will likely come down with a mystery illness or injury anyway. Antonio should draw a few fouls from their mob too which is important as most of our goals come from dead balls & headers lately.

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
Not sure matching up works, why play their game? They're better at it and at home, they definitely want that.
Have any of the teams that have beaten them recently decided to match up? Wolves didn't, and I wouldn't say Everton's side have shown that as their main strength.
Do them like we've done Fulham, Newcastle and the like.

Precisely, pass it around the peasants, no need to mingle with them.Wilko1304 wrote:Not sure matching up works, why play their game?

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
They can't kick us if we're not their. Keep on with the passing and moving game. Let them give away free kicks and bookings.
As all the players and the management keep going on about big team mentality you wouldn't see Liverpool or Man C resting on their morals to play Cardiff and we shouldn't either.
Same application in defence and the previous few games and same movement and link up from the front players will see us win. Cardiff will huff and puff im sure however with the right mentality we should walk away with the 3. I dont expect it to be a walk over but a nice early goal will help.

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
We have a 100% record here, three 2-0 wins out of three!
Looking forward to it, feels like a proper away game as the two times I've been before (both in 2012) we were piled onto coaches and had to collect tickets on the way, barely getting to the ground in time for kick-off.

Far too much positivity on this thread for my liking.
Where's the usual doom and gloom ?
However I'll join in. Cardiff City 1 Mighty Hammers 4.

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
Way too much optimism, but I like it
We turn up with right mentality we will have too much for them, they are a dogged bunch and will put it about. Hernandez plays (and he deserves his start on recent performances) and we could have a record free kick amount in the first half, he will be knackered from getting off the floor so many times.
We score first we win comfortably, as they appear to let their heads go down recently when they let one in.

Re: ⚽ Cardiff City v West Ham Utd (9/3)
It's going to be tougher than a lot of people think. They'll come out of the traps snarling and kicking our players up in the air - and we won't get much protection from the ref
For that reason I'd player a "tougher" starting line up than the one we might use a week later at home to Huddersfield & I wouldn't risk Lanzini from the start again & I'd keep Felipe on the bench too. If Nasri isn't up for starting I'd move Snoddy into the middle and play Masuaku on the left
How about:
Fabianski
Fredericks Diop Ogbonna Creswell
Noble Rice
Antonio Nasri Snodgrass
Arnautovic
Bench: Adrian, Zabaleta, Balbuena, Obiang, Anderson, Hernandez, Carroll

Lanzini wasn't expected to play 90 mins against the toon so can see him only playing part of the game. I'd start Nasri and bring Lanzini in when the spaces are opening up
